My brother got a new P226 and it's kinda a disappointment.
The trigger is nice, but not $1,100 nice.

And the gun is flippy as fuck compared to my cheaper CZs.

The bore axis meme is real.

>>
>>33730966
Finish, standard x-ray night sights, grip, front slide serration, and smaller slide release and Short Reset Trigger, are they main things I can think of
>>
>>33730730
You say that like having bitch hands doesn't just make someone better able to tell which guns have more muzzle flip or something. Having owned one sig in the past i tend to not really be the hugest fan. They tend to be heavy, mid capacity for size, larger than necessary, over priced, more muzzle flip, and moderately accurate. Overall i dont really see a reason to give them my burgerbux instead of some other company...

>>33731334
You fucked up buying the subcompact. shoulda got the compact and then bought an extra subcompact frame senpai. that being said the p320s are pretty good guns.
>>
>>33731333
Nice get but as a company they are shit.
The legions have issues with the finish. The 238's and 938's had a plethora of problems that sig was fine selling.
They mislabeled some of their ammo and decided to sell through it anyway.
Their marketing really is gay and they're run buy the same Jew that ruined Kimber.
There just isn't any competition in the high end pocket gun field.
It's not that they're the best high end pocket gun, it's that they're the only one locally available.
It's like a $700 gun, I'll probably just trade out for something else after I sweat on it all summer. It's a SIG, who cares.

Had* cancer's fun like that. If you can have gun X or gun Y, and gun Y has less upwards recoil force than X you'd be stupid to pick X over Y if everything else is equivalent.

>"Buh Buh I dun have bish hands"

How retarded can you be? Oh wait, you're an exetershit koolaide drinker. You've probably only been shooting for less than 5yrs and think Sigs are cool because operators use them. Ill break this down for you then.

If you dedicate the same amount of training to a gun with less muzzle flip from the get go, then you will be able to better handle it under rapid fire than one with more muzzle flip. Same goes for if you have ham hands. It just means you'll feel the recoil even less.

Basic physics and logic, real simple stuff.

WRONG!

3rd year mechanical engineering student here, let me explain why you're wrong.

The bore axis meme is based on the diference of moments caused by the distance between the pivot point and barrel axis.

In fact, I did the calculation for you, assuming both guns are firing Federal Hydra-Shok 147gr. The Sig may have a higher moment, but only by 7.9%. Assuming you arent a little bitch, its nothing.

>I did neglect mass of guns, because the only part on a Sig significantly heavier than the glock, is the frame. Of which, about 40% of the mass is below the pivot point, and would almost entirely eliminate the added moment from the mass difference.

See pic related.

Engineering student back again, I said that while it is technically higher, its such a small difference. I realize you see 7,9% and think "damn its almost 10 percent off!!!" But the numbers themself arent high anyways. Imagine you are at dinner, and you are served one single bean, while your buddy gets two. Technically he got twice as much as you, but its still not much food.

Tldr, go hit the gym, pussy.
>>

>>
>>33734287

If a 7.9% difference is that big a deal to you, then it is a reflection of your physical weakness. Why does the world have to revolve around your lack of fitness? Or maybe it's just because you're a poor who has to skip meals to buy ammo? That's your problem homeslice, you're malnourished. Next time, skip that extra box of TulAmmo and buy yourself some Wheaties.

Muzzle flip is the angular (rotational) momentum of the pistol caused by the axis of the bore sitting higher than the center of the grip. The higher the bore, the worse the muzzle flip, and the longer it takes you to bring the gun back on target after each shot.

tldr; you paid $900+ for an engineering flaw.
kek
>>
>>33734128
go on L and M precision and spec out what ever you want. the front was more ( and can get more expensive if you want night sights), the rear sight is an add on to the DP pro (where as with a RMR or other the rear sight will be dawson or custom) and you dont need back ups if you dont want. so your cost will vary but...total cost for this build was

>p227
500 (yup scored a deal)
>dp pro
380
>dp pro back up iron
80
>milling + front sight
250
>g2 grips
125
>barrel

>can (if you count it)
790 + 200

so 1360 or 2350 with the can
>>
>>33734347
Also the engr that posted that pic earlier. If 11ftlb is that much to you, get the Federal Expanding FMJ 105gr. It generates a lower moment than the glock with the hydra-shok. Still, hit the gym manlet
>>

>>33734392
And that muzzle flip is caused by the moment, which is only marginally higher. Git gud pussy. Do you seriously need me to calcuate the angular displacement to show you how big of a bitch you are?
>>
Most semi-autos have lower bore heights than revolvers; just how low depends on the cleverness of the engineering.

Single-action semi-autos like the 1911 and Hi-Power kept their bores fairly low, but the complex lockwork of some older DA semi-auto patterns (SIG, S&W, Beretta) placed their barrels ridiculously high over the grips and cursed them with much more recoil than their modestly-powered cartridges could justify.

Modern striker-fired designs can put the bore just above the web of your thumb, and the Steyr and the M&P have just about the lowest bore axes on the market.

It's just SIMPLE physics. You will need more time and energy to readjust your follow up shot.

why do you spergs try to validate your sig circle jerk so much?

>>
>>33734714
It surely is my mang. Its a deformation spur so that if it gets dropped it can be quick checked by an armorer for replacement. If the spur bends enough to touch the hammer body, something is going to be fucky and need work. Pretty neato.

Admitting that the bore axis design influences how you shoot the gun, and just saying "bulk up pussy" just verifies that gun is indeed flawed in that respect.

Excuses like "manlet" only show you are willfully ignoring the fact.

And thats called delusion.

>hah hah, only 11ftlbs difference, if you can feel that ur manlet

It's like you cant even into biomechanics. the reason it feels different isn't because it has slightly more torque due to the relative angle the recoil energy is moving along. it's because the entirety of the energy from the recoil is happening at a different angle to the wrist/forearm bones than the entirety of the recoil would be at a lower relative angle. simple calculation of the relative energy turned into torque completely misses the point.
>>
>>33735308
If you apply a force directly into the palm of someones outstretched hands, you will have a completely different effect on that person than you would directing that same energy into torquing their wrists. the farther you move off being in line with the forearm bones, the more of an advantage it will have.

the recoil impulse doesn't feel remarkably different to handguns with a lower bore axis. there's not enough energy here to where a 1' bore axis would be a problem.

if you can't handle a Sig Sauer, you will most likely have trouble with any other handgun

most handguns are similar, and as for the rest I believe it's great to be able to adapt. squeeze the trigger, press the mag release, rack the slide. that's all you need to do. as a southpaw, half of the controls are practically useless to me so i only train with these basics and it translates well between designs.

handguns as sidearms suck. they're not valid substitutes for a rifle, they have very limited application. pick one you like, whatever the reason, but it doesn't matter that much since you should not experience a failure of your primary weapon.

handguns as a primary weapon are very different. they have to be something you are comfortable with and can perform consistently with at range or generally in your intended application

whatever the case, you should never set yourself up for a situation where you need to use a weapon and cannot adapt. for this reason I don't recommend the "personalization" mindset for defense

Get a S&W 686P.
You can practice with .38 Spl essentially recoil-free, and you're only losing 3 shots vice an automatic.

The Beretta will be more pleasant to shoot because it's heavier and has a better trigger.
Gen4 guns aren't on the roster, so it's not like you have any choice in the matter.
If you live in a part of CA where CCW is a possibility, you may want to consider a 19 instead of a 17.

Compared to what? Neither of the pistols he's looking at have 10 round mags. Hell, I have a CZ SP-01 that carries 18+1. Don't get me wrong, I love revolvers, but you can't say the capacity is only 3 less than an auto and be objectively correct.

>>
>>33737301
there's no such thing as preban mags in california now
they retroactively made them illegal unless you are a cop or retired cop
SB 1446 (Hancock)
Those who own magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds , even if they are “pre-ban” magazines or grandfathered in under past bans; they will all be illegal after July 1st, 2017. The State requires Citizens to remove the magazine from the State, sell it to a licensed firearms dealer, or turn it over to the Police. 1st offense will result in a $100 fine, 2nd offense $250 fine and 3rd offense $500 fine.

I've carried both a 238 and 938. In terms of carry you won't really notice a difference. If you're experienced with pistols, go with the ,938. If you are not or just want something with basically no felt recoil, go 238. Imo best carry pistol currently on the market

Serpa holsters are trash.
They're extremely vulnerable to dirt and debris jamming the mechanism, and even when they work, you unlock it by pressing the button with your trigger finger, so your trigger finger is curling toward the trigger as you draw, which has a high risk of causing an ND.
Get a Safariland ALS holster instead.
With the ALS, you unlock it by pressing a button with your thumb as you draw, which is dramatically safer than the Serpa's system, and I've never heard anyone report that their ALS holster has locked up like Serpas so often do.

spending over $100 on a holster seems a tad much for a $500 pistol.
>>
>>33731654
>>33731334
You guys do realize you can just swap the receiver into any P320 grip module right?
>>
>>33741028
Not if you carry it everyday. Don't get me wrong - Alien Gear makes a good holster for $40-50 but sometimes you just need a Stealth Gear -- especially if you sweat a lot and carry concealed every single day.

remember, if you are getting this for a carry weapon, is it really worth it that you could potentially ND or die because your holster was trash and made you fumble.

Hey m8's, I got a 229 legion a couple days ago and went to shoot it today. I tried to shoot and nothing happened so I took it over to the gunsmith who said my firing pin was stuck. He said my best option was to send it back to Sig since I couldn't afford to get it fixed, is there a way for me to fix it myself so I don't have to lose my gun for a month?
>>
>>33741656
Ya, take it apart and see whats going on. Might just be something stuck or missing a firing pin/lock spring.
>>
>>33741689
Well he said the pin wouldn't budge at all and that he'd have to strip it down. I don't know if I have the tools to strip it down far enough
>>
>>33741735
See that pin on the slide above the decocker? Drive that out and the rest you should be able to do with your fingers. I know you have a hammer and if you dont have a set of punches you should pick some up because you will use them again.

Plenty of videos out there showing how to completely take apart these guns.
>>
>>33741735
Also if you dont have punches please dont improvise, it can go really really bad. Just spend the 15 bucks

I've decided to change up my carry gun a Glock27 that I've carried for over 4 years. I want stryker fire, no grip safety , no crossbolt safety. Im willing to go slightly larger than the g27 and am considering 9mm as the new caliber. As such the Sig 320 is at the top of my list in either compact or sub compact. Thoughts, suggestions warning and info would be appreciated. Kek Reeeeee

Does it make you asspained to know American engineers are comfortable working in both imperial and metric units? Sucks to suck, cuck. Go stick all 2.54 cm of your dick in a wall outlet.
>>
>>33746961

I still carry my glock 26 over my p320 subcompact because it is slightly slimmer and shorter making it more comfortable and easier to conceal. I keep the p320sc as a potential back up but also bought a compact grip module and just dremeled the nose to be in line with the subcompact slide. I now have a backup home defense gun that holds 15 rounds but can switch to the subcompact grip for concealment.

Be warned that the subcompact p320 is more top heavy than the compact version and will take some time for you to get used to it. Try the medium subcompact grip for better grip.
