But I think for the dye combination, I will probably use rit dye, I mixed tan with kelly green, and use tan as the dominant color and some green in order to match the khaki green,. it did work but I was trying to see if they knew about a better dye. But a lot of stahlhelms are Spanish/Finnish/Hungarian/etc that are either in original condition, or restored to look German. Actually just went to my local milsurp store today to ask about tigerstripe. Apparently because of the conditions in Vietnam a lot of it got ruined and it was only issued to special forces so real tiger stripe surplus is kind of hard to find and I would feel bad about taking a real tiger stripe surplus bdu to the range and getting it dirty/ worn when they are so rare.

Yup. The ALICE frame/straps are much older and inferior to newer stuff like the ILBE and MOLLE, although the MOLLE frames are squeaky as hell.
