Did you play with toy guns when you were a kid?
>>
>>33723486

My parents wouldnt let me have toy guns, but I kept building them out of legos and finding gun shaped sticks to play army with, so they finally gave in and got me some.

Ive been shooting (or pretending to shoot) since before I could talk in complete sentences
>>
Yep. Cap guns lots, and cops and robbers of course.

Probably why I'm itching to try airsoft.

Yes, despite all attempts by my mother to stop me. I made guns out of Tinker Toys, K'Nex, and Legos. Then I got her to agree to a Power Rangers blaster and Super Soakers. Then Cap guns.

I never had a BB gun...after that it just turned into getting her to let me play Grand Theft Auto III and such.

Then I told her I was only going to get my Firearms ID, not commit to buying anything. Which turned into "my handgun purchase permit expires in 30 days, I have to buy one this month". Guess which shitty state I live in. Worked out for me though.
>>
>>33723486
Yes. And they didn't have those stupid orange tips on them.
>>
>>33723602

>stupid orange tips

Brah, these days, with kids getting shot by cops for brandishing toy guns, I wouldnt let my kid walk around with a toy that looked too real. Orange tips are a must
>>
>>33723679
Then don't purchase guns without one. Don't make it a legal fucking mandate because you're a shit parent you statist cuck.
>>
>>33723486
Yep. Mostly cheap dollar store guns that fired suction cup darts.
>>
>>33723486
yah. stick guns to cap guns to pellet guns to real guns
>>
>>33723511
I was the same way, my mother wouldn't even let me watch movies with guns in them, but despite that, I allegedly (according to her) was still playing with stick guns when I was very young. She still has no idea how I even knew what a gun was.
>>
>>33723486
Fuck yeah, I had a toy M16A1, an M3A1, an UZI, a MAC-10 and a P-38 shit was boss
>>
>>33723486
After school me and my friends would go home and grab our guns and then then go hop the fence to school to go play on the jungle gym.
Usually it was us Vs. Imaginary zombies.
My best friends dad also had a boat, a jet ski, a broken down golf cart and several parts cars that we would go mess around with and get into cool car/boat chases.
We also had code names that we used, mine was Rico. My best friend was red star.
The day red star got a BB gun was the day I fell in love with airsoft.

To this day it's still a struggle not to blow an entire paycheck at Walmart buying toy guns. Still have my favorite one too, it's a shotgun that had shells, fit four in the tube and actually ejected them when you pumped it. I sawed off the stock and wrapped it in medical tape.
>>
>>33723693

I never said anything about a legal mandate, I just wouldnt buy my kid one. I believe in freedom too.

Chill dude, we're all friends here
>>
>>33723486
Yeah.
My mom was such (and still is) a fucking hippie it's always been a source of argument.
>>

/k/ memes aside pretty fun if you have a neat kit but it is expensive as fuck,
and the fact that all it is just shooting plastic balls at kids. other than that
it is a good way to teach yourself how to handle situations you would not encounter in regular shooting like
moving to cover , taking fire, and trying to move shoot and not get hit

check out rushin' russians and milsim stuff too if you
want a pseudo-reenactment with blank fire,bb guns , and explosives
>>
>>33723887
I used to watch some scout the doggy vids and I got a huge hardon for airshit and it hasn't subsided.

There is nowhere to do it around me but shit something about those toy guns does it for me. I am tempted to buy them just for fun.

Also cork guns were cool as fuck I also had some toy flintlock that was really well made I wish I didn't fucking lose it.

here www ( DOT ) airsoftc3 ( DOT ) com if you live in the us , this site can help you find a feild
or group of guys to go to games with, also if you do get into airhshit dont buy cheap shit go for like an e&l ak or krytac they are worth the cash, but also dont go too far down the rabbit hole
>>
My dad tried soooooo fucking hard to get me into cars that it was almost pathetic.
When I was a kid he got me a car bed-set with the retarded checkerboard flag striped sheets.
He would always buy hot-wheels and other assorted garbage car related shit. I'd go play video games and eventually stumbled upon a BB gun at the age of 13.
He desperately tried to buy me racing games, racing computer hardware, but alas they would all end up collecting dust. As I would replace the bed with a kick ass bunk with camo sheets, my hot-wheels with cheap dollar store cap guns, my racing games with Doom, and Quake.

The BB gun was where he finally figured out how much I loved guns. I would sit in the backyard shooting my bb gun from 12 till 9pm.
I'd play nerf with my friends for several hours after. Then lasertag became a thing and I'd always play that. finally when I was about 16 and air soft came on the scene. He reached his breaking point. not only from the guns, but my complete and utter lack of interest in cars. He hated me for some time till the marriage had finally failed after medical problems regarding epilepsy. The medication he had to take made him a bitter man. He hated my guts.

If anyone knows how epilepsy is, He finally got to the point of incoherence. He would repeated things over and over again, he'd forget where he was at, sometimes he'd ask where my mom was.
I'd comfort him by asking him about cars, and even though he was almost incomprehensible, I'd sit there and listen as if I knew what he was talking about.

Eventually he died, and I still hate cars, but i'll buy a plain ticket up to see him and leave a hot-wheel at his grave.
regardless of all this I still love guns, and I still hate cars.

Back when I was into it CYMA ak were a great starting gun. Never heard of e and l or krytac
>>
>>33723486
I had a few 5 dollar airsoft guns that would last a week and then I finally got a good nerf gun
but that was about it.
>>
>>33723992
I've written about it before, but nobody usually gives a shit.
>>
>>33723999
Cyma is still decent but there are other budget options that do just as well. Elite force has some great offerings. They just release a co2 powered single action army they call the smoke wagon. The cylinder is a little weird, it rotates in either direction when on half cock and has notches instead of spinning freely. KJ Works is a great source for gas blowback pistols.
>>
>>33723999
cymas are bitchin' , I have two but i would recommend looking into either a krytac which is the airshit section of kriss firearms ,
] or e&l/ spartan delta they are great quality ak's that are made in an ak factory in china and
have a good fit & finish

also in co i have to drive between 1-2 hrs to get to my closest field so i gotcha man ,but there
are still a few fields out there for you
>>
>>33724028
Fuck that sounds fun. I love weird shit like that. Stuff I wouldn't buy in real gun form but it tempts me in airsoft form especially with how cheap it is to shoot.

>>33724042
Airshit section of kriss ? Fuck that's cool
>>
>>33724051
yep , and they just made an electric vector too , that is fucking weird as shit

but yeah they are more premium but they are definitely worth the money

I had a similarly embarrassing experience at a game.
I had my mags facedown in my plate carrier and when I went for a reload it was full of 5.56 instead of bbs.
Needless to say I felt pretty fucking stupid and I had to borrow mags off my "teammates". Worst thing was that it was a 3 day event that I paid 70$ to get into.

Why do we not have Airsoft threads on /k/? /toy/ circle jerks over gunpla and Barbie dolls, /asp/ies only post their homosexual Mexican soap opera luchador crap. Airsoft doesn't have a home anywhere. Do we avoid it like the plague so we don't attract even more noguns?

Sure, Airsoft guns aren't weapons, but learning to use cover, how to move and shoot, how to reload quickly, and how to not drag friendlies are essential skills in Airsoft and that's at least weapons related. More so than the thinly veiled pol threads, that's for sure.
>>

>>
Starting as a kid me and my friends would make explosives. Things to set off in cornfields or molotovs to toss at the undersides of bridges.
I quickly fit into paintball in 2002 as a younster, and it just went from that. I went from building shockers and timmys with a box of parts into trying to make rifles out of parts kits. After handle real rifles a bit and working at an airsoft field I got into actual smithing and despite playing a lot of games as a kid like MOHAA COD1 and doom=
I ended up with a completely different profession and my former profession of making things that go band a loving hobby.
Sleep time, put the bottles away, /k/.
>>
>>33724207
agreed , i personally think that there should be an airshit general on /k/, but in all fairness
airsoft is pure cancer and most people there are pure cancer. even if it is fun as shit
>>
>>33724215
Never heard of that either but if I was going to go into airsofting 200 is better than 3 and a half or 4. I have a hard time spending more on airsoft than my real guns. At least until I started using it more.

10 80 10 rules
10 percent of any hobby is cancer. Have you seen the circle jerk that is ar general? 80% is going to be you average skill weekend warrior and the last 10% are going to actually know what they're doing. Just have to find the right group and play the occasional private game/LEO training event.
>>
>>33723486
Nerf and water guns definitely. Paintball as I grew older but never anything that looked remotely like an actual firearm.
>>
>>33724299
that is why i stay away from my fields on weekends and try to go during either week days i have off or Friday nights/night games
where all the kids/autistics are not at the field and i typically only go with a friend

but you are complete correct with that 10 80 10 rule
>>
rubber dart 1911 gun that was neon green. really like the aesthetics of it when i didnt understand what that was as a kid.
>>
Back in the old days, Having an airgun is like the dream you'll never get for me for a simple reason: no guns or toyguns allowed in the country. Me and the neighbor boys would then have to create rubberband "guns" out of bamboo and bottle cap that goes braaaaaaaat and nothing comes out the stick that we call a barrel, kinda like those clip from the dudes in africa shouting boom boom while training. That was the guns we used to play.

Then came the computer games in the early 00s and you'll get all sorts of fun, but most of the time I play Counter Strike, eventually did some gun modelling for the lulz. That almost cost me my high school years (thank cod2 for the F grades) and so no more fun, or at least, no more open fun for me. I somehow passed through high, uni and a work year all while dreaming about the things I can never reach. Fast forward to now when I managed to bag myself out of the country into Nipland. First thing I did? Buy an old Marui 1911. And hoo boy ain't that fun, feels pretty awesome although it has some teething problems. Guess I'm gonna do a reverse tunnel rats kit someday.

So yeah, I played with "guns" when I was a kid, I played with virtual guns when I was growing up, and now I play with toy guns. At this rate I'll probably get the real deal when I was having the midlife crisis or something.

I played airsoft a lot in 2012-13, christ, was it really that long ago now? Combat Machine M4's and Cyma AK's were the best budget guns when I played. I had a G&P M4, still have my Cyma/Dboys AK-74M but the battery has gone to shit. What ever happened to Izhmash getting into the airsoft market? I know they displayed a few models at some show.

But yeah it's a huge money pit if you're not careful. I really only stopped because my local field was getting shitty. Poor team balancing, off-duty refs jumping onto already over populated teams with their friends while using ridiculous pneumatic guns, and the community was meh. A lot of kids and tryhard adults. Also got completely ignored by the field owner when I tried to contact him multiple times. I was a regular too, fuck em.

You ever play an indoor field? Tight quarters work all kinds of magic on the kinds of players who rely on 1,000 dollar HPA builds to score hits. If no one is ever more than 75 feet away you tend to see those who actually have some tactical sense start to shine.

That being said, there is nothing more satisfying than sneaking up on some p* trust fund baby and tagging him in the back of the head from 10 feet with a $150 gun.

I still play with toy guns to be honest.

This one just makes sounds and lights up. It's pretty cool though because it's scaled well enough for a toy. The side rails are way too big but the top and bottom one are good-to-go.

Also it changes from full-auto sound effects to suppressed when you take the suppressor on and off.

Here is what it used to look like.

I have a bunch of parts coming for it next week. PEQ-15, M3X Light and a Dual-Remote for the rails.

Also ordered a cheap airsoft bufer tube and PTS stock so I'm going to try to put that on.

And I have a mock airsoft suppressor that I'm going to shim over top of the original so it can still be taken on and off the gun and provide the sound effects appropriately while looking better.

It gets much worse then this I'm afraid.

When I was like 5 my dad bought a pair of metal snap gun (or whatever they're called) revolvers. When my mom would leave the house so we didn't have to worry about guns we'd play corny Western-style gun fights for like 20 minutes at a time.

I'd be like behind some sink cabinet or something as my dad would peak around corners and whatnot. The whole kitchen and half the living room would be filled with smoke from them.

Those things were great.

Played 'woodsball' too. Paintball in the woods. Some people would bring ghillie suites and it was a lot of fun. I miss it a lot now that I live in a big city with no nature, and indoor paintball just isn't nearly as fun and 4x as expensive.

damn I walk past thing thing in walmart all the time and with what you did to it I would of never recognized it, the real accessories really threw me off.

I know what i'm going to do next time I go shopping
>>
>>33725592

I can't wait for all my accessories to show up. Should look even cooler after all that. I don't know why but the novelty of taking a toy gun and making it look close to a real one with a bunch of airshit accessories is really funny to me.

I just ordered one of these too.

I'm putting a velcro side saddle on it. May repaint it, add a rail to the top with an optic like a RMR or Aimpoint replica. Shit like that.

If you ever have a son, he will be obsessed with cars and detest firearms. It's the great cycle of feels.
>>
>>33723486
You bet, with surplus store uniforms. We made and painted stens and MP 40s because no one made toy copies. They were all plastic Thompsons in the stores.
>>
>>33723486
Fuck yea bitch! I remember a toy MP-5 I had and I took a toy spotting scope I had and taped it on pretending I was leet neet Spec Op agent tactical killin squirrels and starlings.
>>
>>33723486
my favorite was a cap gatling gun
>>
>>33723486
Liberal mother tried everything she could to keep us away from toy guns until one day she bought a transformers knockoff at a Goodwill and it turned out to change into a double barrel break open.

>>

No, I played with legos and erector sets because I had pretty much unlimited access to real guns because I had a /k/ dad.

They had these things at the Indiana Jones section of one of the Disney Parks. I wanted one so bad. Now I look them up and they surprisingly cost more money than they did inside the amusement park.

Pic related. We were a bunch of 6-7 kids that always played with a friend that had a huge house, yard and plenty of guns.

I also used to make LMG's out of Lego, one time turning a corner I smashed it and hundred pieces of lego flew over the grass.

>>
>>33723486
Yeah, nerf guns when I was a young kid, and airsoft when I was in high school.
>>
>>
>>33725090
yeag sure
>>
>>33723907
I had a toy mp5 like that
>>
yes

and now I'm selling firearms for a living

really makes you think
>>
>>33723486
Yes.
Me and my mates used to chase eachother around with little plastic toys pretending to shoot eachother. Even stole a couple of those tall yellow traffic cones and pretended they were RPGs. Then we got BB guns. Then we all grew up, got jobs, and bought a shit ton of real guns. It's the cycle of life.
>>
>>33724672
>just tools
Cars have souls you nimwad
>>
>>33724207
as much as i hate airsoft i can agree. i used to play a lot, started working at an airsoft field in my free time because it was free bb's and shit, but it became more trouble than it's worth.

if it stayed in a general, and no spillover happened, it would be fine here. /asp/ is a board for fake fighting.

I always used to clear my grandma's house with the toy m16 she bought me.
>>
Yes but it was a strange progression. First it was cap guns, then nerf guns, then bb and air guns, then real guns. On top of that I grew up in New Jersey
>>33724551
I had that exact cap gun, got in trouble for bringing it to day care once
>>
>>33724841
I had two of these, dual-wielded of course.
Then my grandpa's soul sucking "girlfriend" 86'd them.

When I was real young, I had this rad laser gun thing. It looked like something from Terminator. Everytime you pulled the trigger it made a different laser noise. I remember playing with it so much my trigger finger got a blister.

>get a little bit older
>got an airsoft MP40
>caught a bunch of grasshoppers in my parent's garden
>tie them up so they can't jump away
>begin executing them and shooting them point blank one by one
>lol I'm a Nazi
>>
Used to play with Nerf guns when I was 8 or 9, moved on to airsoft in my earlier teens, hit 21 and bought my first actual shootybang.
>>
>>33724672
Could say the exact same thing about cars
>>
>>33728849
>Einsatznerfen

I had that exact dart gun too, was a bitch to reload but damn was it fun
>>
>i was the oldest kid (boy) in the neighborhood
>I thought it would be cool to coordinate a kind of army LARP thing while the girls would play house.
>got all the other kids to stockpile their toy guns.
>basically turned into pimping your toy guns with model paint.
>my magnum opus was an AK 47 looking water gun that made that clicking sound and squirted water when you pulled the trigger
>had this shitty green plastic with woodland paint
>painted the wood furniture a nice brown, painted the metal parts grey
>my friend accidentally broke the stock so I just built one out of meccano erector set
>barrel snapped off but just found a way to glue/tape it back on
>looked like some somali abomination
>it was glorious
i would post a pic if I had one but i dont have any pics sadly
>>
>>33727586
where can I get one it looks like fun
>>
>>33724207
Because there's a general on /asp/ for that exact thing and we should go and board it to make it not shit.

The only things it really has going is a really gay motherfucker dressing up like a girl and attentionwhoring shamelessly, and the occasional shitpost by resident rasslefags.

Airshit doesn't go on /k/ at any rate.

>>33729692
Looks like a toy from the 90's.

There is however a gas blowback KG9 some company made a while back, even fired from an open bolt too. You could probably find it with some searching.

Not really. I had a couple nerf guns, but wooden swords and shields were always more fun. Beating the fucking shit out of each other was so much fun.
>>
>>33723907
Oh my fucking god I still remember the sound they made. Those were the best for night time operations.
