They must fuel it with roofing tar and discarded cigarette butts to make that kind of smoke though.

It is, and IIRC its been used in a multitude of vessels since WW2, notably HMS Belfast. There must be something horribly flawed in the injection system/shit tier fuel if that is happening.

Im not sure if the MK turbo boilers differ from Belfast tho, so ????? Really.

A source in the defense-industrial complex disclosed the TASS details related to the repair of the aircraft carrying cruiser project 11435 "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov." "In September Zvyozdochka will sign a contract with the fleet for the second stage of the repair with the modernization of Admiral Kuznetsov," he said.

Heavy aircraft carrying cruiser of project 11435 "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov" at the wall of the "35 SRZ" branch of JSC "CJC" Zvezdochka ", 09.03.2016.

"The transaction price has already been agreed upon - it is almost 40 billion rubles. The works will begin in the same month at the 35th shipyard in Roslyakovo near Murmansk, "the source added, adding that it is planned to complete them in the fourth quarter of 2020. TASS does not have an official confirmation of this information.

As reported by "Kommersant", the ship "Admiral Kuznetsov" took part in the operation on the territory of Syria. The cruiser in the squadron entered the conflict zone. About 400 sorties were fired from the ship's deck. In RBC, it was estimated that the cost of the aircraft carrier's participation in the operation reached 10 billion rubles.

no idea where people take them from, i just save them whenever people post them in kuznetsov threads. I think it started as a joke a year or so back when someone joked that the russians still have cats on their ships while the US navy got rid of the beloved (tom)cats.

I joke but i agree, cats/dogs probably do wonders for morale. Animal therapy works after all, where i live its getting used more and more often. They even started to use dogs in primary schools here and it seems to have beneficial effects.

>>
>>33725608
> Didn't a French sub win twenty straight war game simulations against American carriers?

No. France and the US are NATO allies. The USN kindly simulated an OPFOR carrier, and the French sub gamed against that. Imagine a US carrier with some of its capabilities masked or disabled. That's what the French sub defeated in games.
>>
>>33730887
>Frog: We need a carrier to wargame against along the lines of Russian aircraft carriers.
>Burger: Sure thing. Let me tell the captain to start making smoke, turn off his radars and slow his speed.
>>
>>33725483
Russians are the only country in the world that centers its entire carrier battlegroup around a tugboat. The tugboat is the most critical aspect of Russian naval strategy. If it sinks, the SAG is cripped.
>>
>>33722309
The fact that if it ever launches it's AShMs it can't launch or recover aircraft tells you everything you need to know. The missiles leave huge holes in the deck once they launch since they don't have a hatch that opens for launch, just covers that blow off. Also it still carries the arrays for the Sky Watch radar that never worked. Sad when the Liaoning is orders of magnitude better than it.
>>
>>33725887

Yes, cats are probably better than humans at not going overboard. Cats can be dumbasses but their spatial awareness and balance is more than good enough to keep from walking off the edge of the ship.

I would be more worried about ships cats getting killed by machinery or something else that they aren't capable of understanding which didn't exist in previous generations of ships. That's still not much more likely than getting run over by a car anywhere else.
>>
>>33733233
There's also a very practical aspect to it. My guess is most Russian ships still have a rat problem...hence cats.

I was onboard the Chinese one in 06 before they had started to refit it. They wanted to see what I thought.(I said take it to Bangladesh and sell it for scrap) Anyway I heard from their boiler people that tubes did not have enough clearance from the flame front to use full atomizing steam without the tubes cracking unless they dumped excess fuel into it. Basically they had already decided to remove the boiler and replace it with one designed by someone sober. I was happy it was just lunchtime bullshiting between professionals and did not complain again about the nice crappy container ship automation replacement gig on the other side of COSCO.

>>Evolution stops once an organism has achieved the perfect form for its role

No. Evolution stops when selective pressures aren't intense enough. This results in the animals staying in the dust and getting outclassed by more competitive organisms.

Also Crocodillians have went through an enormous amount of change in their history, they've stuck around because they evolve. Pic related, its a fast running terrestrial crocodile which would have hunted dinosaurs.

Horsehoe crabs have been around long as fuck I'll admit, they first came around in the ordivician period which was more than 450 million years ago. They've kept the basic body plan alright, but they're arthropods so most of them do that anyway, they aren't exactly very high level organisms. Still, the Horshoe crabs we have today are not the same ones we had back than, and they are uniquely adapted to live in our current oceans. Yet they are still extremely vulnerable to predation because once they're flipped over all that armour they have is worthless. Only reason tehse things aren't hunetd to extinction is that they each lay hundreds of thosuands of eggs. They've spent 450 million years near the bottom of the food chain, so if you want to compare the Russian's aircraft carrier to that I guess I can't argue with it.

Besides crocodillians are infinitely more /k/ approved than horseshoe crabs I'd imagine.

>so if you want to compare the Russian's aircraft carrier to that

I think he was talking about the Lada.

Jokes aside, the reason it stayed the same for decades was because
- pre-1990 the target audience was simply so glad they got a car after spending 5-15 years on the waiting list to give a shit
- post-1990 the target audience was too poor to afford anything else... or anything at all (the sales dropped like a stone)
- they had nothing to compare it to for ages
- any changes required massive amounts of bureaucracy

Since then they've launched a bunch of modern-ish designs, but the production numbers are still ridiculously low.

How about no? Production rate of Lada Priora is virtually the same as for instance Dodge Dart.

Dodge Dart has hilariously low production numbers

As compared to what?

Actual popular cars.

BMW E34 was in production for 9 years and resulted in 1,3 million units built. For BMW E87 it was 8 years and about 1,5 million units. 590,000 Prioras in 5 years is not that much different and is nowhere near being "ridiculously low".

Bullshit.
why do you have this need to lie about such blatantly false stuff?
I'm no vatnik, but you have to be a fucking mongoloid to come up with this shit and not think others will look at you as a frothing idiot with a blatant agenda.

Sarchosuchus is a top tier croc, but it mostly looks like a large modern croc, and I wanted to highlight how diverse crocodiles actually were.
