So /k/ - is this a good price for a stripped AR lower? Where can I get a better deal?

Hard more: California (Bay Area, to be specific).
>>
>>33720565
Probably City Arms in Pacifica. They have good prices. They should be like 100-125 at most. Might wanna just invest in an 80% lower and jig. Shits worth it
>>
>>33720629
Thanks, anon. I was going to go visit their branch in Pleasant Hill soon anyway, so this gives me an excuse. Also, how much should an 80% lower cost?
>>
>>33720653
I got 5 80% lowers for like 20 bucks a pop, the jig is about 100 bucks. It helps to have a drill press already. tbfhwy City Arms East isnt as good as the one in Pacifica. But if you are an east bay fag then I wouldnt waste the gas. Couldnt tell you any other shops on that side of the Gay Area. You are looking for AR-15 lowers and not AR-10/AR-.308 right?
>>
>>33720708
Right, just an AR-15 lower. The idea is to get it DROSed to me now so I have it as a hedge against even worse legislation or panic buying that drives prices even higher than they are now, and then be able to do a leisurely build over the next couple if years as I find parts I like at a decent price.
>>
Thats why you bulk buy 80% lowers my dude.
>>
>>33720850
I'm not planning to build or own a dozen ARs, and I'm not buying them as an investment. I just want one for myself, so buying in bulk would be useless for me.
>>
>>33720923
Nigga AR's aint an investment, you can build one for less the 500 these days. Even in cuckifornia
>>
>>33720565
Yo is that reeds? Thats a horrible price, snag some 80 percent shit and a drill press its the same except you get a drill press. I almost got shot at markleys a few weeks ago by some dumb fuckin elder manlet and his metrosexual son who kept loading this malfunctioning nickel plate SAA clone behind the firing line and barrel sweeping eveyone and no one even confronted them about,it. Fuck markleys
>>
>>33721057
Right. That's why I said I'm not doing that.
>>
>>33721097
>Yo is that reeds?
Yup.
>>
>>33720565
That looks like a .308. Are you wanting a .308? If so, you should probably buy the upper and lower together as a package deal instead of separately.
>>
>>33721151
No, not looking for a .308

But as an aside, are .308 lowers generally a lot more expensive?
>>
>>33721167
>are .308 lowers generally a lot more expensive?
Yes. Everything AR-10 related is more expensive because fewer companies make it and there isn't an established standard like the AR15. Even so, the Mega maten set I got was a better deal than that considering it had both receivers, then again I don't live in California (anymore).
>>
>>33720708
whered you get 80% for 20 bucks?
>>
>>33721104
Oh sorry my man, Didnt read that right. Good luck with your build
>>
>>33720565
>Stripped in California: Hard Mode

Sounds like a gay porno.
>>
>>33720565
Holy moses where the fuck are you? I purchased lowers from San Jose and I thought $100 was a ripoff.
>>
>>33724567
its actually not that horrible of a price. its almost normal.

>$400 for a stripped lower

kill yourself.
>>
>>33720708
Why get 80% lowers in CA anymore? Since the law changed and they have to be registered and neutered what's the point?
>>
>>33720565
can you not order lowers online to an ffl?

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen2-pa10-308-stripped-lower-receiver-516445318.html

i assume you want an ar-10 lower based off of the op.

this one is $99

>muh noncompliance
>muh cops are mah shootin' buddies
>muh seekrit ghost guns
You fags are the reason open carry was banned and with the democrat supermajority in CA their only response will be to clamp down harder on other areas.
>>
>>33727212
Are you sure that wasn't actual criminals? Not fanboys secretly storing their fetish rifles under their beds?

He's implying that the end user would simply not register them.

Which, considering the political climate in the People's Republic of California, is probably the wisest path.

>blaming the victims
wew
>>
>>33720629
I'm not sure if we can still do 80's here in commiefornia
I think that it nixed in the big gun agedion thing last year
>>
>>33729539
Wait seriously
>>
>>33731502
theres something about unserialized "ghost" guns being illegal now and having to request a state issued serial but seeing how they havent even gotten off their ass about the actual assault weapon registration forms its not possible to legally comply. even if you wanted to you cant get a state issued serial.
>>
>>33731589
Sooo
Fuck'em I guess?
Not our fault that they haven't done anything
>>
>>33720629
>They should be like 100-125 at most.

That's a .308 lower though. I know, I have the same one.
>>
>>33729539
There's no law saying you can't buy a gun shaped hunk of aluminum.
>>
>>33731602
its pretty much do it if you want but you are still breaking the law if you build post 2016. the laws badly written and impossible to enforce but you are still breaking it.
>>
>>33720565
>Cal
>None

That's not what that receiver says. THey best get that bound book entry fixed unless they want the ATF to come fuck them
>>
>>33720565
You can get a better deal literally anywhere else in CA.

Even Turner's sells stripped lowers. You should be able to find them for $85-100.

Turner's
Guns Direct
Gun World
Ajax Guns

Any of those
>>
I live in comiefornia, what are my options for self defense? can I even get a hand gun?
>>
>>33733710
>I live in comiefornia, what are my options for self defense? can I even get a hand gun?
Are you under 21, an illegal immigrant, a fugitive, a felon, a wifebeater, or a mental patient?

If you answered no to all of these, then you can.
>>
>>33731707
>Turner's
>Guns Direct
>Gun World
>Ajax Guns
>Any of those
All on the wrong end of the state, I'm afraid.
>>
Just buy it. You were meant to buy it.
>>
There are some stripped lowers for sale for around $100-120 in SJ
>>
>>33734429
>There are some stripped lowers for sale for around $100-120 in SJ
I'm listening - clue me in.
>>
>>33734467
theres only like 2-3 gun stores in sj all within driving distance of each other. go the fuck outside.
hell you could probably reach 5 or more stores and 2-3 would have that pricing.
the main issue is op took a picture of a 308 lower.
>>

Thanks for adding to the thread just to tell me that you're not going to provide any useful information. The fact that you're too cool to be helpful is noted.
>>
Atlantic firearms, you can get a basic lower for $45-90 or a 80% for just under $500
>>
>>33734594
is it that hard to use google maps and the words san jose gunstore? a receiver that would be 50-90 bucks in another state priced at 100-150 in ca is standard. this is not a super secret great deal you have to seek out. if a gunstore has them in stock it will be around that price for a standard basic receiver.
>>
I found an Anderson stripped lower for $75 used through Calguns. How are Andersons? Decent? Trash? Meh?
>>
>>33735670
andersons are cheap.
thats it.
for the price you pay the quality is acceptable.
a new ones like 40-50 bucks but considering its in state buying used at 75+35ppt from a real persons going to be cheaper than transferring a new one through a ffl.
>>
>>33734594
Another bay area fag here. There is like less than 10 FFL's in the bay area, how can you not find them on google maps or yelp or some shit.
>>
>>33720653
Do not go to city arms. they are OK. if you can make it Bay Area Gun Vault is great. I literally just bought a lower along with the kit and a grip wrap yesterday. Its going to be my first AR and they were super helpful and stoked to be helping me.

t. live near concord
>>
>>33735766
It is in mountain view though. so if you live north of hayward or alamo dont go during rush hour it fucking sucks getting back.
>>
>>33735766
>>33735788
also the lower itself was 150. but its the same at city arms except they actually argue with you if you want to go with the cheaper option and always bring up the "its a gun you need to make sure it can save your life spend more money on our products so you dont die"
that was literally an argument they made.
>>
>>33729539
>>33731502
Up until a certain date (july 2018) you can build and make as many lowers as you want. However, they must be serialized to ATF spec. You don't need to register or do anything fucky with any agency until after this date.
>>
>>33735737
I'll just never understand why it's so common here that you'll see people write twice as many words and put in twice as much effort to *not* answering somebody's question as they could have into just answering it, as if that made them some kind of 'leet operator or something. What exactly is wrong with just answering someone's question directly instead of acting like you're too good to answer it?
>>
>>33736130
Thank you
>>
>>33720565

i can get them regularly for 100 , 140 after tax n transfer at a local shop. they will sell them next year too.

just make sure you avoid millet
>>
>>33720653
The one in Pleasant Hill has Anderson lowers for 99. Or, did two months ago. Not a bad place, and they'll also take fishing licenses as second proof of ID, if they're printed.
>>
>>33726733
You don't have to register them, if you make your own from 80% you have to Serialize them.
