You /k/ommandos have finally convinced me to buy a better red dot.
I've been doing alot of research on Aimpoint's, but need some more convincing on whether I should go Aimpoint, Trijicon, or EOtech.

Aimpoint anything, Eotech a shit and MRO is a shit.
>>33717193
What's the difference between some of the popular models of Aimpoint? Why are some $400, and others $1000?
Is it just durability?

ACOG boi
>>33717259
If I could swing an ACOG for $800 I would do it. Don't really want to spend any more than that. Already have $2,200 invested in this gun. Maybe I'll sell my leupold.

Submersible depth, NVG settings, battery life, mount style.
>CompM4/M4s
800 dollars because muh military. I can appreciate the QRP mount simplicity, but the size and weight is unnecessary and space in efficient.
80k hours on a AA battery is impressive, but AA batteries (as you can see by the housing) comes with certain size limitations.
>T2/H2
700 bucks because top of the line but not muh military.
50k hours on a CR2032 is an impressive feat. And it is the size of a coin that fits inside a brightness adjustment turret.
>PRO/CompM2
300 bucks because muh outdated military. 50k hours on 1/3N battery impressive, but it's a retarded gay bullshit battery for availability and commonality. 10k on M2. Similar xboxhueg QRP mount as M4.
>ACO and all other 9000/"hunting series"
Literally throw them in the fucking trash.
I had an M2 long ago, good durable sight. Have friends with T/H series. Good, durable sights. I don't really understand why anyone would fucking bother with CompM4 when T/H series exist.
I am going to buy an MRO after spending some time with a friends. Good battery life on a 2032, less obnoxious size than M4, good price. I like Trijicon as a company, I could care less about Aimpoint.

Thanks so much Amigo!
I would love an ACOG or something and am now pricing that out as well. If I didn't have an expensive car I'd buy an ELCAN sight, but I don't use my gun enough to justify it at the moment. Really appreciate your input.

>MRO is a shit
Care to back that up?
I wanna get me one of dem korhean optics from Dee Eye Oooh, they look mighty good for 200 bones.
I have an Aimpoint CompM3 which I'd trust my life to.
But I was thinking of getting a Holosun HS503GU (donut + dot reticle) for a shotgun. Not sure if I can trust it on a 12G though.
I like the donut reticle, especially on shotguns, but outside of Eotech, I'm not sure who else does it.

1-4 or 1-6 scope
Just get an Aimpoint micro if you have the dollerydoos to throw on it. My pops has one on a lightweight build and its extremely comfy.
> but need some more convincing on whether I should go Aimpoint, Trijicon, or EOtech.
Ideally you should get an Aimpoint Micro, a T-1 or T-2 specifically. Small, light, insane battery life, and fantastic reliability. H-1s and H-2s are perfectly fine as well. If you're wanting to keep things on a budget, consider a PRO or a surplus Comp M2.
MROs are fine and affordably priced, but not as nice as an Aimpoint micro. There are some issues with fish-eye and magnification with the glass, and the tint can be off-putting for some.
Write off Eotechs entirely. There is no reason outside of liking its aesthetics or doing a clone build to subject yourself to a red dot that is heavier, bulkier, and has inferior battery life compared to its competition
