I'm interested in more future warfare stuff. Stuff that's on the horizon and stuff that's more scifi - I like my space warfare.

I'm a noguns so most of my interest is just reading. Researching stuff so I can design my own scientifically accurate space battleships.

My main interest is in controlling firearms and who has them and who doesn't.

Really firearms in general. I have a soft spot for wacky designs, new concepts, gimmicks, failed designs.
IM also very fond of the self defense aspect, the sheepdog concept, and minutemen.
I don't have much interest in hunting personally, I wouldn't ever see myself stalking a deer and taking its life. I could see myself taking out pest animals though, boars and coyotes.

I'm probably a collector above all else. I also love having a caliber for any mood I'm in but stick to the main 5 nata/slav calibers plus 22, 12ga, and pellet rifles.
And I really go for things that please the eye or are interesting or unusual vs what I've grown up seeing.

Collecting. They're weapons of war and should be respected as such. Tired of this new sheepdog trend where everybody buys an AR15 and takes classes and buys gear hoping that they'll get to kill people without actually enlisting. People who concealed carry too. They all either have hero fantasies or are hoping they'll get mugged so they can legally shoot somebody.

Sure, to a degree.

>Defensive?
Absolutely. I avoid getting firearms with no defensive value, don't have the money to throw around on stuff like tricked-out AR's when I can get good with a Hi-Point carbine for a third of the price. Most of my defensive practice is with a 12-gauge pump shotgun and a Hi Point .45 carbine.

Not really. Competitions are stressful.

>Plain fun?
Yep! I teach a lot of other people to shoot too, recognizing the value of certain points since I had to teach myself. I try to teach people who otherwise wouldn't get that experience (particularly minority individuals whose families avoid firearms), and start them on a .22LR rifle in order to give them a good starting point. I practice most of my fundamentals on a Mosin-Nagant M39 (pic-related) due to the need for trigger discipline, the open sights, the recoil, high accuracy, and the crisp trigger pull; it's kind of a perfect training rifle for disciplining both techniques and habits and really good for a lot of purposes in general.
