Does /k/ approve the BLR? Mine has been hunting PA for nearly 40 years in my family.

It's more accurate than I am, but my dad can put a 3-4 inch group at 100 yards with the scope all the way up to 8

For perspective, a beat up crappy old FAL shooting surplus NATO 7.62x51 FMJ can do that. Either your dad's not good enough to be an accurate test of the rifle, or the BLR is crap.

That's the problem.
It's 50% better than every other leverguns ever made ('cept maybe the savage ones) but it doesn't get 100 because of the barrel harmonics being sacrificed for style.

That was true up until a few months ago. Henry finally made one that doesn't suck.

Look, aside from cowboy aesthetics tube mags and those damn handguards/forends or whatever you want to call them have no reason to exist.
And they needed to add better lockups for ages and thankfully things like the BLR and shit are kinda catching on.
Leverguns without that BS are somewhat acceptable.
