I want to believe that I'm jizzing my pants for good reason.
>naturally subsonic for ez suppression
>full powder burn in SBR length
>low recoil so follow up shots are too easy
>low recoil so my wife can enjoy shooting it more which means I get to shoot it more (married-fags understand)

Anyone ever shoot one?

>>

What mags does it uses?
>>
>>33712390

Greaser mags.
>>
>>33712305

9mm is better unless you want it strictly for subsonic reasons.

They claim that 9mm and .45 ar15's recoil harder than 5.56. I have a 9mm and i think the recoil is lighter but it probably is more harsh because of being blowback.

Holy shit I hate that guy
>>
>>33712500
calling 9mm better is kinda subjective don't you think?

I can agree that it's cheaper, lighter, and smaller but to say it's outright better is like saying nails are better than screws...
>>
>>33712548
You hit the screw right on the head.
>>
I've looked into this a bit too, OP.
Here's another manufacturer. It's a little cheaper than the CNC one you posted.

>>
another option is a "just right carbine" in 45. uses glock mags and isnt out of business like OA. plus, its a factory gun so trouble shooting isnt on you
>>
>>33712476
Forealzies?is there not one that takes glock mags?

45 is shit for suppression
>>
>>33712642
I'm confused, 45 is usually well below the 1100~ fps threshold to be subsonic, how is 9mm more quiet especially out of a carbine length barrel at 12-1500fps

That chart you posted showed showed handguns being fired. I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely curious.
>>
>>33712583
>>33712589
Thanks, the bazooka bros is definitely an option if I can call them and maybe knock down the price to get it without the buffer and stock, I'm looking to just get a blade brace and do an sbr deal.

The price point is nice on the just right carbines but I'm an armyfag so I figure if I've been training on an AR for the last 7 years, I might as well stick with it.
>>
>>33712705
That chart uses factory 147 gr 9mm that's at the 985-1000 FPS (so inherently subsonic) range. It's the only 9mm I shoot these days since the recoil impulse is a bit more .45-like and the flat points cut nicer holes into paper targets
>>
>>33712862
So did you build your gun to be a paper-killer (nothing wrong with that)? I'm just thinking if the goal is to get around 1000fps, wouldn't 230gr be better than 147gr?
>>
>>33713108
I should be more specific: wouldn't 230gr at 1000fps be better than 147gr at 1000fps?

>>
>>33712305
I've never seen one like this, straight mag and all, I really like it!
>>
>>33713142
I've never shot the hi-point so I can't speak to its function, but that shit is ugly as fuck. Also, it doesn't have the ar controls that have been drilled into my muscle memory or its ergos.

If I ever need a glock 40 problem solver I'll be sure to pick one up though
>>
>>33712545
It's a decoy retard. Dyeh spotted
>>
>>33712705
Iirc 45 doesn't suppress as well because of the large diameter. Makes for less efficient capture of expanding gasses
>>
>>33712305
Why the fuck does anyone still like .45? Name one remotely common pistol round that's less efficient than .45 AARP.
Pro tip: you can't.
>>
>>33712545
It's standard practice.
That's how you keep the old people away from your damn duck pond.
>>
>>33713362

>9mm is better unless you want it strictly for subsonic reasons.
It's better if you want it for subsonic reasons too
>>
>>33712305
>>33712548
the only advantage to 45 is that you can get cheaper subsonics

It's louder when suppressed, costs more to shoot, uncommon mags, less reliable feeding (fat and short vs skinny and long) and recoils harder than 9mm

9mm ARs are common as shit and can take glock mags as well as has a shit load of support

I'm building one soon here, but unfortunately it's going to cost $1600 to build it like I want

>>33712642
it's way easier to suppress since the ammo is more common
147 gr 9mm isnt' common or cheap

>>33712705
large hole means more gas escaping
147 grain 9mm is subsonic
>>
>>33713108
>>33713120
I enjoy 9mm's lower cost, reduced recoil, and higher magazine capacity, but I can understand the old school appeal of .45 ACP.

The real losers I can't understand are the ones that still think .40 is somehow better.

Subsonic 9 beats subsonic .45
>>
>>33714570
.45 is subsonic by default, 9mm isn't. Better suppression without having to compromise your round's inertia by using an underpowered load.
>>
>>33713445
>it's better for subsonic reasons
Because hitting someone with a 147 gr. 9mm at just below the speed of sound is better than hitting someone with a 230 gr. .45 ACP at just below the speed of sound?

It's a rifle platform. Magazine capacity becomes a non-issue, and when you're velocity-limited, then the heavier bullet is generally the better choice. Of course, the 9mm is going to be slightly quieter, but by a substantial amount.
>>
>>33713289
And what does that decoy lure to the pond, anon? Like we see floating behind the muzzle when he first shoots it?

Quarter Circle 10 makes a lower that takes Glock 20 and 21 mags.

>>33712305
Oly is kill. You might also consider a GWACS Cav-15 lower instead of the CNC Warrior one, since you could also use it for normal intermediate cartridges.
>>
>>33714584
>>33714609
>9mm is 124.95 dB
>.45 is 133.51 dB
>dB are logarithmic so .45 ACP has 718% more sound pressure than subsonic 9mm

>Subsonic 147 gr 9mm has 8.5% less energy at the muzzle than supersonic 115 gr 9mm but greater energy than supersonic 9mm past 25yds
>11.5% less energy at the muzzle than supersonic 124 gr 9mm but greater energy past 50yd
>Subsonic 9mm has 19.3% less energy at the muzzle than .45 ACP

Underpowered, sure but not uselessly so.

It's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for it being that much quieter.
>>
>>33712548
No 9mm is better on every metric, especially in an sbr.
>>
>>33713120
If you want it to drop like a rock sure
>>
>>33714584
Stop saying default. We don't mine it from the earth or pick it from trees before saying prayers over it to change its properties. The old as original spec was subsonic sure, but 200 and 185gr loads have been super common for a long time. Same thing with factory 147gr ammo. There is nothing special or nonstandard about subs or supers for either anymore
>>
>>33714609
>Magazine capacity becomes a non-issue
Except for actually carrying the mags
>and when you're velocity-limited, then the heavier bullet is generally the better choice.
Anybody using either for a serious purpose is dumping rounds into the target or taking very careful shots, so there is still not advantage to the heavier bullet
>>
>>33715582
From personal experience in Afghanistan, no one is John wick. You're going to miss shots. Single gunshot wounds are common. If I'm only going to get 1 round to hit, I'd rather hit someone with 230gr for that slightly higher chance of blowing apart some vital organs.

Thank you for my service.
>>
>>33712305
No, shit's dumb. Subsonic rounds are dumb for self defense, anyway.
You feel inadequate with a 9mm but are too much of a poorfag to get into memeout. What you fail to realize is that 45 is no better than 9mm while you lose out on capacity and time on target.
>>33712548
No, they do the same job and 9mm does it with half the mass, half the volume, and shorter.
>>33713457
>cheaper subsonics
>45 cheaper than 147gr 9mm
no

I really like the design on this one, sucks that it doesn't take Glock mags.
>>
>>33714620
Calm down, duck fag, he didn't get anywhere near them. If you're just worried about the lead in the water being bad them well oh boy, do I have bad news for you about WHY he has a duck pond in the first place...
>>
>>33715572
>Stop saying default.
Okay, standard, calm down.
>>
>>33713269
>I can't speak to its function

Google it. Nobody has any legitimate criticism for it besides the low mag cap and the complicated take-down (though compared to an AR, it's about the same).

>It doesn't have AR controls, ergos, etc that you have

Might not be the best choice for *you*, then. Or you can learn to shoot something new that costs a third of the price.

>If I need a Glock 40 Problem-Solver...

Figures the staunch AR user would use a meme to avoid learning to use something new.
