>>33708087
Look at the Beretta 950 series

I have one from 1957, a pre-safety model chambered in .25 auto. It feeds more reliably than a .22 auto, holds 8+1 rounds and can fit in a cell phone case. Unfortunately it's a piss weak cartridge, but still. Your should be able to find one for around $400

I put 100 rounds through my brand new kimber micro 9 today to break it in for CC. I had 2 failures to feed where it would feed 75% of the way, easily fixed by racking the slide and ejecting the round. this was with remington FMJ. I'm using hornady critical duty for my CC load. At least with the remington it was extremely comfortable to shoot for being a sub compact 9mm, I think the weight and mechanism help alot. similar to pic related except has 3 dot sights instead of bullshit black.

OP here

I don't plan on using these for self defense (getting something much better for that), so I only included .25 acp and .22 short and .22 long.

Any other suggestions on collectible pistols in these calibers? I like non-traditional looking guns.

Also do the prices seem right? Got them from some gun auction site.

There is no .380 tomcat. You'd have to go to the Beretta 85 or 84 for a 380 pistol, which is a midsize.

32 is petty underrated though, you aren't gaining a whole lot with 380. I can't really recommend a tomcat though, as far as I know they still have unresolved frame cracking issues.

I EDC a Kel-tec p3at
It is tiny and a joy to carry.
A bit to snappy for range fun though
I usually just practice with a bit, and then switch to my beretta 85 or 92 for range fun
>>
>>33713053

Ah, gotcha. Yeah I misread that.

The closest thing in size chambered in 380 is the NAA Guardian and the Micro Desert Eagle aka Kevin ZP28. 380 in guns this size tends to be kinda unpleasant to shoot, even more so for lighter guns like the KelTec P3AT.

I do have an NAA Guardian in 32 and had one in 380. It's beefy enough 380 is doable but 32 is actually fun. They need a little smoothing to improve trigger pull but it's not bad.

You might look into Kahr pistols too.

>>33708319
.32acp was the dominant police cartridge of the western world for over 60 years and you should not be afraid to carry it. I still keep a rifle in my trunk in case of riots (I live near Baltimore), but a small pocket gun is plenty if you need to ruin a mugger's day.
>>
>>33713390
It's not built for that. Honestly they're not recreational guns; they're snappy, the sights suck, and the ammo costs as much as 223. It's a carry piece for people who can't have something larger on them. I put a box or two of ammo through mine every year to make sure it's functioning properly but that's it. 8000 rounds will last me a lifetime.
>>
>>33708319
Yes, Underwood makes a copper bullet for them called a cavitor, gives good penetration and a little bit of cavitation, use these instead of hollowpoints for carry.
>>
>>33709217
Kimber also don't know how to MIM and likes to fuck you in the ass on warranty.
>>
>>33711159
Don't buy remington 9mm. They use some wonky projectile that makes the overall cartridge length visibly shorter than other brands. It's within spec but in my experience it makes some guns more prone to jam.

>>33719152
Really depends, the Backup could be nice, some could have issues but they can be fixed and you'd have a good little pistol.

There's the Automag pistols they made that killed their company, and some 1911s with varying degrees of success (both can be made to run with some work).

I would obviously not put them on the same level as Jimenez or anything, but they weren't flawless.
>>
>>33719208
>I would obviously not put them on the same level as Jimenez or anything, but they weren't flawless.

Making some lemons doesn't mean your pistols are saturday night specials, though.
>>
>>33719076
Its your money but seems like an odd choice for a range gun. When i hesr range gun i think of something thats unusual or very fun to shoot, not a sort of compact semi
>>
>>33719497
I was thinking of it as an alternative to my Makarov since they'd be in similar weight and function
I find the idea of a relatively heavy all metal .380 pretty sexy. No real reason for besides whim. I did look at the CZ 83, but I figured with the Bersa replacement parts would be cheaper and much more abundant than for the CZ83 which will probably be a bitch to find parts for in another 10-20 years.
>>
>>33718118

They work fine but the quality is poor and the design is too compromised. The people who say they're built like Rolexes don't know anything about manufacturing and just like it because they're shiny.

They were the only .32 pistol that size until the late 1990s, and the only metal one until very recently.

They're not junk, but they're not great examples of quality and they're definitely overpriced. I sold my second Seecamp (first one was returned because of quality control) for $450 and bought both a Kel-Tec P32 and a Taurus TCP .380 with the money.

I feel a lot better carrying either of those than the Seecamp.
