You may have to get creative with the STABO harness, so far it's the only item not readily available.

Should be easy to make one if you have some sewing experience.

I had to make my own for my setup. Got an old parachute harness fro ebay and lotta cutting and seam popping later got it.

Did you? I was under impression that this harness is nearly impossible to acquire. You could try to replace it partially with ALICE, but that's not the same.

The "real" tigerstripe patterns probably would cost insane amount of money if they ever appear anywhere, considering their application and who they were issued for.
Although nowadays you can just buy a complete uniform and pattern replicas. I'd prefer a more modern version of BDU in tigerstripe, though.

Speaking of cosplay, I want to use my m16a1 clone for one but does anyone know if I can use it if I take parts out & if so how much do I have to take out? Bolt? Trigger group? I just don't want to buy airshit for a costume when I basically have the real deal.

As far as the webbing, that's a Vietnam-era pistol belt, and you can just cannibalize a rock climbing harness or something for the rest of it. You can see where Snake basically nig-rigged it where it meets the belt with the X shape.

OC is not legal for rifles in TX. Even if it was, honestly, I don't know what they'd say either. They're used to peacebinding swords and shit. Part of me would say throw orange tape on the muzzle, but anyone there who knows what a real rifle looks like would throw your ass out quick, fast and in a hurry. I wouldn't bring it. You're going to a con, dude. Most of those people aren't really cool with real firearms.

Open Carry doesn't mean jack shit because conventions aren't in public spaces, they are in privately rented spaces such as hotels and convention centers, each of which have their own rules for the venue, and then an additional set of rules for the event itself.

Most of the time for an airsoft gun that looks realistic it needs to A) have a bright orange tip on the end that cannot come off easily and actually fills the end
B) have it's ammo removed and something that literally prevents/jams any ammo from being loaded
C) the trigger disabled
and even THEN some shows just outright ban realistic looking weapons because the moment you step outside the convention space you may get hassled by police.

As far as the stabo harness, it's actually fairly easy to buy the strapping yourself and then just attach the fasteners to it. You still have to buy the pistol belt, but those are easy to come by.
In the end you'll probably spend 60 bucks on the harness, fasterners, and belt.
