Is HK the Audi of handguns?
More like the BMW of handguns.
As in they're an overpriced name brand that looks nice but isn't.? Yeah, basically.

?
You can definitely argue that there's diminishing returns on them, but they make good product.

No. H&K controls ever facet of production down to specifying their own metal and polymers directly from suppliers. They're pretty much the only gun company out there to do this as it adds costs for negligible performance gains.
They're a relative bargain in relation to competitors within the respective price range. I'm personally not a fan of polymer weapons so the company's current lineup does not pique my interest at the current juncture.
If any comparison in the automotive world could be made it would be to Lexus.

They are very nice and very German, so in a way I guess they are.

German engineering.

I still love my USP and want a MK23 but I wish HK would go back to being a ground breaking innovator rather than playing safe and making poly pistols and AR clones.

Never thought I'd agree with a Pepepost, but here we are...
At least we have the MP7, and by we I mean, no one i'll ever meet.

this.

I love them, but they're honestly overpriced if you just want a range gun. They always feel wrong when you first use them, but eventually you figure out the "FUCK YOU, RIFLE IS FINE" German engineer logic where the weapon isn't going to make any serious concessions to be human-usable and you're going to have to adapt yourself to use them. Sort of like hand tools. But once you get past this barrier, they're extremely good weapons.

I know $1,800 isn't much, but it's a little pricey for memes. Maybe one day when I stop blowing my wad on milsurp I'll meme harder. I'll settle with my USP .45 for the time being.
