Put some foot powder or baking soda on your gear, then dust it off. That might help get rid of the funk.

Let it dry out thoroughly and then stick in your freezer for a couple hours. That will kill the stink-causing bacteria.

Do you take your vest home?

If you do, wash it in warm soapy water then put it in your refrigerator overnight, it dries much much quicker that way, also, carry 3 spare T-shirts in your car, whenever you get a break, swap shirts

Also put on a Cold wet T-shirt whenever you can

Buy more carriers?

I'm not a cop so I never wore my body armor enough to have it smell. There is also a spray product that galls has, and if you choose to wash your carrier, you have to remember the manufacturer warning to never let kevlar get wet.

Use a coolmax or any of under everything whenever I go innawoods, wicks away sweat pretty well. Dont know what the weather is like where you live though, so it may not be enough. Could bring an extra one and change it mid-shift

and since there is a LEO thread up I will ask in here. Recently applied for NC State Police with only metal shop and Casino work in the past. Some anons said a few weeks ago that all I needed was a clean record and be under 400 lbs to join. Was that true or did I waste my time applying? Also what kind of things do they ask on the polygraph?

Duty weapon nothing special. Glock 22 with TLR-1 and Remington 870 with saddle. The 870 has been worked over by Wilson Combat, though. Super smooth.

To those that said to wash with soapy water: terrible idea. Water and cleaning products most definitely will compromise the vest. I haven't tried the freezer. I may give the under vest a shot and report back here later.

Every other end of tour, I sprinkle some on my vest while it's still damp and rub it in, and but a pinch in my boots. Between that and a fresh wicking undershirt each day, I have zero odor issues.

Old spice body spray. IWB appendix carry and fabric holster. Full pants, all weather, even when running around in the summer. Holste ronly comes off if I'm fucking, bathing, or sleeping. Spray makes the holster smell nice until I can wash it.

If it can cover up cock sweat, it'll work for anything.
