That price can't possibly be right.

I would gladly spend 750 bucks on it.

Is this gun for killing animals, people or both? It's too expensive for either anyways, especially for a handgun..

I don't know what the official price is but it was already said to be in the ballpark of $7500. I don't see who exactly the market for this thing is.

I have a feeling it's either going to flop, a dead design. end up becoming a standard for firearms like (Glock, Smith and Wesson) or this model will flop but it will make a giant new paveway for future gun designs.

>Neat. Little gay to kill a farm animal though.

What do you think happens to farm animals anon?

>Inb4 it's totally humane to corral them into a slaughterhouse where they get knocked in the head before getting their throats slit one by one

What if I told you that guns were made to kill people and animals too?
>>

only 7500 bucks seems alright
>>
>>33695461

>>
>>33694224
Not to mention that last I read they had decided on .312" bullets, meaning LITERALLY FUCKING NOBODY makes them in appropriate weights other than Brno...who doesn't export to the US.
>>
>>33694348
That's because FK keeps upping the MSRP every month as they lose more and more interest in it.

When it was first announced it was supposed to have a $1500 MSRP.
>>
>>33694107
I like that it exists and seems to push ammunition technology forward. Probably won't buy one though unless I win the lottery.

>>33694107
So let's turn this into a wildcat pistol cartridge thread. What do you guys think about 22TCM? It's a neat ass little round and has compatibility with 9mm. I wish armscor would do some work on making LEO loads because I'm pretty sure they could sell it to female LEOs easily while keeping the departments interested with it's 9mm compatibility.
>>
>>33696729
Pic/round info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_TCM
>>
>>33694260
>overpenetrates at 100yds
Yeah, totally my new carry gun.

>>33694282
Because most people don't know what a Zastava M92 is, so they give it the generic name "AK47" because that's vaguely what it is, you could maybe informally call it an AKMSU but normies don't know that either.

>>33696108
Yeah, the stock is kind of cool.
>>
>>33696644
That's, kind of a problem if you're launching a proprietary cartridge, you need to at least make reloading components available to have a good fighting chance (unless what you have is a really good new hunting cartridge that people don't mind spending money on).

>>33696650
That's even worse, how the fuck are you gonna get interest back when you're progressively pricing everyone out of your product?

I could buy a machinegun for that in the US.

>>33696665
Did we watch the same video? The recoil seems very manageable, similar to a .357
>>
>>33696789
At 2:18ish in the video they do a comparison between the FK, a .357mag with a 3" barrel, and a .44mag with a 4" barrel.

Note how much further braced forward he is with the FK, and how it has more muzzle climb and rocks him more than even the .44mag does despite being an autoloading pistol with a MUCH lower bore axis than either revolver.

And from 1:36 to 1:49 when he's shooting it with the stock, look at how badly it's rocking him.
>>
>>33696729
The original TCM is pretty neat. I have the boltgun and I use it for woodchucks. Basically performs about the same as .22 Hornet.

None of the available loads really do all that well as a defensive load--you get your choice of a bonded softpoint whose expanded diameter is under .30" (smaller wound channel than .32acp) that also overpenetrates (18-19" in gel) or a non-bonded hollowpoint that blows up massively but only penetrates 4". I shoot the latter on woodchuck to great effect and I'd use it on coyotes but it's outright inadequate for people.

Like all bottlenecked pistol rounds it's annoying to reload, and appropriate-weight bullets are scarce and expensive compared to slightly-heavier .224" bullets or any traditional pistol bullet.

And then the 9R load ruins the terminal performance even further since they had to truncate the bullet enough it really doesn't expand.
>>
>>33696838
I don't know, it really doesn't look that bad to me.

>>33696880
I wonder, how would the .22TCM perform assuming you made a bullet out of plastic, like those old .38 Thunderzap cartridges?

Just kind of brainstorming, but it'd be going obscenely fast, even if range would be short.
>>
>>33694107
The ammuntion if far more impressive than the pistok that fires it

Seems to out perform a short barreled AK at 100 yards.
>>
>>33696977
They compared it against garbage x39 though.

Other than penetration it seemed to produce significantly less wound channel and energy transfer than the .357mag.
>>
>>33696880
What interests me the most about TCM is that with more development it could be a real useful LEO cartridge, and it's recoil in pistols is crazy light.
>>
>>33697038
Possibly. I could see it doing well with a 50gr monolithic copper hollowpoint, but that would make it prohibitively expensive.

Right now no .22cal bullet offers the right blend of expansion and correct penetration--you get a lot of one and almost none of the other. If the COAL were a bit longer something like a 50gr Vmax-FB or tipped Varma FB would have potential, they manage 10" of penetration at 1000fps higher MV and would likely meet correct penetration (12-14") at .22TCM velocities while not just outright disintegrating. Kinda like how the 110gr Vmax and Varma do in .300blk, they act more like a softpoint than a varmint bullet.
>>
>>33697075
>I could see it doing well with a 50gr monolithic copper hollowpoint, but that would make it prohibitively expensive.
As opposed to other bullets made out of machined copper? People are already doing that kind of stuff.
>>
>>33697150
I know. And they're expensive AF. Like, even as reloading components they start at 55 cents each.

Which for a duty round would be *prohibitively expensive*. Especially since it's not an off-the-shelf bullet and would have to be developed specifically for the .22TCM.
>>
>proprietary cartridge
LEL
For what purpose?
It'd be fun to own, but i imagine the price wouldnt be fun to pay, both for the ammo aswell as the gun itself.
So i'd summarise that it'd be a nice toy, but not really useful for anything else.
>>
a rich euro fag target pistol, just in time for the jews in Brussels to ban anything but olympic rimfire type target pistols.

too expensive to catch on in the US or Canada.

why couldn't they just chamber it in tokarev?

then at least the ammo would be common and affordable enough.
>>
>>33697277
>why couldn't they just chamber it in tokarev?
Because it's actually a very mediocre pistol cartridge and far too weak for what they're aiming for.
>>
>>33694107
On the bright side if you do buy one it'll surely become a collector's item in 20 years.

Just a little gay to shoot a bull game animal in a pen.

It's not hunting. It's not necessarily humane since he's taking the shot at 100+ yards

No problem with hunting. No problem with slaughterhouse.

Slight distaste at "hunting" a penned animal.
>>
>>33697926
According to American Rifleman it will retail for "well north of $5000"
It was also approved for "immediate importation" into the US in October of last year, yet not a single one has shipped yet.

Something's wrong.

Soo...never.
>>
>>33698196
I think he means he just wants a carbine in the cartridge
>>
>>33698237
Yeah. It's patented, it will be 25 years before anyone other than FK Brno can chamber it commercially.

Considering it'll be DOA, that's gonna be extremely unlikely.
>>
>>33698275
I guess just wildcat it for personal use?
>>
>>33698327
I dont really see the appeal. .300blk does the same shit but faster and cheaper (not sure how it compares on recoil) if you want it in a rifle. The 7.5 FK is too hot for straight blowback so there goes rebarrelling a cheap PCC.
>>
At first I was like "goddamn that thing is huge," but then I realized it's a woman holding it.
>>
>>33698418
It is huge. Almost deagle sized.
>>
>>33698022

if you guys are this bugged about a dude shooting a live deer for testing purposes, you shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun.

seriously, who cares? it's not like they were trying to fuck it, or torture it.

I want one so bad but it's way to expensive for anyone except rich fucks. I wouldn't even mind the expensive ammo.

I think I could even buy one of those SMG guns FG42 replicas for that much, with multiple mags and lots of ammo.

It's insane that they're pricing themselves out of the market like this.

>>33699635
Well boohoo.

You'll never know the joys of a good chili or steak.
>>
>>33696671
I love my 20 and 29, but when you're right , you're right.
>>
>>33700895
Honestly with the Bren Ten, even though it was a market failure, the cartridge was still viable for other guns because making a locked breech, or even blowback action for 10x25mm Auto, isn't a challenge.

This cartridge, however, is entirely proprietary and is MUCH higher pressure, Glock couldn't make a gun in 7.5mm BRNO
>>
>>33694107
