I respectfully disagree. Bubba is okay if- and only if- the Bubba is easily reversible, IE you can put the original stock back, remove the tacticool sights/optics and generally restore the weapon to its original condition. Bubba is okay as long as Bubba can be easily undone.

Refinishing (only rebluing) if the gun will be destroyed because of it. If the finish is even at 10% but the gun doesn't rust every time you look at it then it's perfectly fine. I had an old S&W 17 that got eaten up by gulf water and I had to reblue it. Other than that, don't touch it.
