I would say USGI aren't competitive unless it has a tan or Magpul follower. At that point, both have their merits and it comes pretty close. Lancers are right up there too.

USGI mags are repairable in most instances of accidental dropping by simply using a gerber tool and duct-tape, where PMAGs are not repairable because you cannot gerber plastic

Sure, but pmags rarely break when dropped (except when it's really fucking cold out) whereas USGI mags dent like a motherfucker. USGI are cheap tho, repairing them seems retarded just toss and get another.

I mostly use my 3rd gen 10 round pmag or 20 round translucent lancers... I have a few 40 round pmags for giggles.. Usgi are better made into beer cans...

i prefer pmags bc as a whole, theyve seemed to have performed better and more reliably than usgi. but in usgi's defense, there are more companies making them, leaving room for varying quality and QC.
used 20 round colt mags are fucking awesome though.
