What do you guys think about Finnish M05 camo? I've been considering something to replace my woodland and the M05 looks like a good choice for my environment.
I also just discovered these guys yesterday and they have a ton of cool shit. Some neat patches too, even though most of them aren't morale.

Is it worth buying from the Finns and getting a cool new scheme to use or should I stick to the standard camos you find within more NATO-centered countries?

If anyone goes on their site, let me know if you find anything cool.

Finn here.
Varusteleka are based as fuck, and were my gateway to post-army /k/ommando life. M05 is also sexy as fuck, and works damn well in its intended environments (nordic pinewood-filled forests). It's very similar to CADPAT, so if you dig that & think it works in your area, M05 is a safe bet.

The legit military M05 gear was a bit hit or miss back in my days, but the stuff Leka sells is their own, improved versions. As in, high quality stuff, not made in some far-east shithole with child labor.

Pic related is the "Pakkaspuku", which translates into cold-weather suit. Perfect for late-Fall / Spring environments, and as upper bodywear with snow-suit's pants for that eye-tricking 50-50 camo combo.
>>
>>33687281
I'm actually Canadian so there's probably a decent overlap with the environments, and I like M05 partially because of the similarities to CADPAT (which is a camo scheme I will hopefully be issued soon once my applications go through).

I've always wanted to visit Finland, but money is tight. And the language is beyond me. Eh, one day.

Thanks for the info based Finbro

>I'm actually Canadian so there's probably a decent overlap with the environments
More like we're exactly the same most of the time. Hockey, cracking open bears, cold and dark half the year... ring any bells?

But yeah, I still recall some ye olde /k/ threads confusing M05 with CADPAT (and vise versa) when it started being wielded more widely.

>I've always wanted to visit Finland, but money is tight.
Unless you got good buds, you better have some cash. Our country's not Norway-tier expensive (damn oil slurpers), but the overall prices tend to follow the simple formula of :
"take the USD cost, switch the currency symbol to €, add VAT of 24%".

>And the language is beyond me.
trust me, everyone and our mothers already speak decent English. Thank the subtitles-centric import of all media + the rise of the internet.
If ya ever end up lost in our neighborhood, you're welcome you to come and blast some paper with my AK.

Have some more M05 porn. This time the Winter variant.

some more personal: photo from my service days. Horrible color balance yeah, but shows how well the camo can work in the intended environment.
At times we would have guys sitting in a ditch or near a tree, trying to talk to people passing by right in front of them, and they'd literally not realize where the sound was coming from before they spotted the bright, "floating" faces.
>>
I'm waiting for an order now. 24 days since it shipped. Fucking bastards in NY sat on my shit for almost 3 weeks. It's moving now though.

God damnit $CAD, making everything close to 50% more expensive
Well, one day. I've weirdly liked Finland for a while, despite not having anyone of Finnish heritage or anything. Maybe the spurdo memes tipped me in one direction :^)
>>33687545
That's actually a super sexy camo, I'm loving it. It's a shame they're out of my size on some of their gear, but I think they're restocking most of it sometime soon.

Also, wasn't the new year opened by Darude Sandstorm in Helsinki? Holy moly the retro memes.

>Varusteleka has a crusader patch and a spurdo patch
How can any company be this based?

To me, it seems like everyone's having this weird Winland fad nowadays. Always found it a bit weird, but it has also helped people to realize that we apparently are doing quite great.

>That's actually a super sexy camo, I'm loving it.
It's made of sex, yeah.
Small protip: if you're fine with a tad more "analog" camos, the bit older M91 works surprisingly well innawoods as well. Pic related, again from "muh days". Jam-o-matic KVKK-62 LMG in the front.
Both M91 and M05 uniforms are also IR-protected, as in they don't glow in nightvision image.

>Also, wasn't the new year opened by Darude Sandstorm in Helsinki?
Yup. Finnish band and all.
No, we didn't start THAT meme. I think. Maybe.

>How can any company be this based?
Because WTF = Welcome To Finland.
They even had Dickbutt reflectors a while ago. And Polish ball patches.

Damn dude I love it

I have to do some stuff so I'll just be lurking in the thread now, but it was great talking to you and gaining insight on Winland.
Thanks for all the photos and everything, I think I'll be placing that order fairly soon. Maybe one day I'll get a chance to go over to probably the best EU country.

Glhf bud, mad respect

My child, you clearly don't understand the beauty and simplicity of the based M85 battle harness. I'd sell my right nut for one, or 1:1 repro.

>My child, you clearly don't understand the beauty and simplicity of the based M85 battle harness. I'd sell my right nut for one, or 1:1 repro.
And you clearly do not comprehend the sheer comfiness of the carrier vest. It embraces you in its warmth like a mother and it's pouches are the greatest place to rest your weary arms on, hugging your rifle close to your body for comfort during those cold cold Northern nights.

>>33687180

If you find something you like on their website, do a search on ebay for it. I've found items on ebay for less than half of what those drunken retards were asking.

M05 vest:
>weights more
>terrible for TETZING
>can't quickly strip it off and use it as a bench
>you need a buddy to tighten it up on you, or else it'll flap around and beat you like a drunken husband
>modular design, yet every single squad leader and officer has differing view whether to let grunts customize it for themselves, or stick to some ancient "standards"
>no good place for Nasse
>can't rest your arms on top of the mag & utility pouches
>can't strap AT-mines on it
>Oh I know! Let's wear the LC vest on TOP of a body armor, which also has MOLLE loops! :D

...and that's somehow "superior" ?

What's wrong with it?
>modular design, yet every single squad leader and officer has differing view whether to let grunts customize it for themselves, or stick to some ancient "standards"
Hardly the problem of the vest. We just had the training LT show the basic setup and the lads were allowed to move the pouches around as they themselves best see fit, so long as it works.
>can't rest your arms on top of the mag & utility pouches
Whoah whoah whoah, the fuck you saying? It's perfect for that, at least with the setup I had. Mag pouches on left, general pouch (large) and waterbottlepouch on the right. So goddamn comfy.
>no good place for Nasse
But the vest has straps specifically for it. Or do you mean with the nasse in full readiness?
>can't strap AT-mines on it
That's a shame yeah.
>Oh I know! Let's wear the LC vest on TOP of a body armor, which also has MOLLE loops! :D
They do? From the actually tetsing troops I've seen, most had body armor by itself.

Shit on your belly. Nuff said.
>Hardly the problem of the vest
problem CAUSED by the vest, rather.
>It's perfect for that, at least with the setup I had.
I guess it's the previous problem rising its head in this case. Some places treat M05 like a chestrig with "backbag" pouch on your ass.
>But the vest has straps specifically for it. Or do you mean with the nasse in full readiness?
Both. And again, NCOs and higher ups were arguing where and when to put it. One bossy guy got a heart attack when he heard that an entire company never carried Nasses around.
>They do?
Yeah. A lot.
Pic related.
>>
>>33688076
>Shit on your belly. Nuff said.
It never bothered me, in what limited rushing I did during training. But then again, I'm not in a role that does a lot of rushing.
>Both. And again, NCOs and higher ups were arguing where and when to put it.
How hard can it be? We had the pouch attached to the loose canvas molle plate thing, strapped to our thigh, and attached to the bottom of the vest with those clipping attachment things. Worked perfectly fine.
>One bossy guy got a heart attack when he heard that an entire company never carried Nasses around.
I can see why. The idea alone triggers me.
>Yeah. A lot.
>Pic related.
Utterly retarded.

A Thigh-carrier?
That was for our dump pouch. And again, depending who was in charge, they wanted Nasse to be left behind, to hang in FRONT of the vest / behind on your back, out in the open or in its pouch, in the back bag... total fucking mess.

One time, we got instructed on how to set up the vest, only to get yelled at by some Leftenant at the "operation area" that our gear was not set up according the standards.

>Utterly retarded.
Yeah, but even the latest textbooks demonstrate the vest on top of armor.
>>
>>33688225
>A Thigh-carrier?
>That was for our dump pouch.
Yeah, the thing in your image on the M05 guys' thigh. We'd have the nasse in that, with the dump pouch hanging freely on the back. Good setup, worked well for what little fighting we did.
Were you an NCO or CO in your unit? We had shit like this happen, with confusing and contradictory orders, so we took it instantly up with the company captain in our NCO meetings and the stuff ended there. What brigade you served in? Things worked fine in Kainuu.
>Yeah, but even the latest textbooks demonstrate the vest on top of armor.
Could just be to show both the armour and the carrier vest itself, though.
>>
>>33688283
>Were you an NCO or CO in your unit?
Nope, just a Yaeger.

Started there, moved to Santahamina after basic.
Already experienced problems in Kainuu.

>Started there, moved to Santahamina after basic.

That's a shame. We had a really proactive company commander as well as wartime CO. Both seeked to cut out pointless shit and fix what was broken. Motivated tst-jyrä platoon trainers were a bonus as well, I'd say, though we're a support unit.
