I just bought my first rifle. The Molot Vepr from Atlantic Firearms. Is there anything I need to be aware of when I receive the rifle such as cant issues and other out of the box maintenance concerns?
OP here. Posting my receipt.

Getting my 3rd vepr this friday hopefully.
Just do the canted sight check, but it should be good to go otherwise. Maybe bore snake the barrel and gas system(12ga snake) to remove any preservative oils.
Otherwise, just shoot and enjoy.

helpful, thank you.
Replace the arsenal trigger. I have ALG's in my 5.45 and 7.62x39. The arsenal trigger on the FM is the worst trigger out there in my opinion.
just clean, lube, and shoot it a lot.

>lube
>an AK
>>33686497
i heard about this elsewhere too. what a shame.
>>33686513
i don't even know which cleaning and lube products i need. i've been busy doing research on which rifle to buy, and none of cleaning. time to start

VZ 58 is way better ak variant

delet

it's the best 762x39 rifle in existence IMO, but maximum bait claming it's an ak variant
>>33687240
but you just agreed with me dipshit
>>33687263
i agreed with the half of your post I agree with
not the false half
>>33687174
probably not as indestructible as the Vepr i assume
>>33687684
You're right. it's more indestructible.

IDK, I have veprs and a vz58.
The vepr is built damn tough and thick, so I guess it'd win a real torture test.
They both don't seem like you should have any real problems other than occasional spring replacements or slowly wearing down the chromed barrels over time.
If the vz has a weak(er) point, it may be that the mags are made of aluminum when compared to generic steel ak mags. Which is a non issue IMO. Being lighter is far more important to me. Poly ak mags probably have it beat in weight though.
But in the case of OP's ak, there's going to be a ton of extra unnecessary weight in that rifle, and there's nothing he'll be able to do about it. There's really no reason you need a vepr thick receiver and barrel for the caliber he's firing.

so you agree that VZ58s are the better ak variant

any solvent
any oil
literally, you can use cooking oil and it'll be fine
>>33688686
lmao thanks
>>33688407
>trying way too hard
Not bad, but heavy as fuck, even for an AK.
