It is exoskeleton. Just without power source and actuators. But it still can help in carrying load.

>>
>>33684209
It just looks like he's wearing fucking leg braces.
>>
WTF, so someone throws some of Forest Gump's leg braces on a dude and claim he can carry more weight?

That's like saying putting a screen in front of his eyes makes him see better. His body is still the bottleneck just as his eyes are a bottleneck for a screen.
>>
>>33684234
>>33684279
>Putting on knee pads is an exoskeleton

Really kids? I didn't have high expectations, but you're failing pretty hard.
>>
>>33684281
So what you are saying is that by adding more weight to the guy he can carry more? But receives not powered help from the exo, it just redirects the weight to a different part of his body?
That sounds pretty stupid.

Yes, the civilian application of exoskeletons also includes medical use, to help handicapped. That`s not a joke.

But in your photo, its just leg braces. No torso support and feet pads to transfer the weight to the ground. You just look stupid now, not sarcastis.

>>
>>33684774
No.
>>
>>33684732
You just cant load EVERYTHING on one guy. Heavy EOD suit. jammer, mine detector, etc - better give them to few, not single engineer.
>>
>>33684783
The person who defuses the mines isn't the same person who finds them
>>
US EOD suits (the adv, or EOD-9) has passive load reduction built in.

It's nice, but you still have to lift the weight of the suit and the equipment.
>>
>>33684686
>>33684699

That's some pretty sweet gear actually. Are Russians leaders when it comes to radio jamming technology?

You have to be good at math to engineer those kinds of devices.

>>
>>33684906
Yes. In completeley motionless position, when the joints are locked, you barely feel the weight. When you walk, one of your leg unlocks, and you feel half of the weight. Of course, this thing is not designed for running, but it sure helps carrying heavy load while walking or standing still.

Back to legs.

Helmet is actually not to bad and sits more on the shoulders.
>>
>>33684941
That's not true, when moving you feel the full weight of the system and load.

Rather, when you lift your leg you are lifting the full weight of the load plus system.
>>
>>33684991
When they can build a robot as smart as a dog that'll be one seriously amazing achievement. Just look at this dachshund!

>>
>>33685041
So there is some rigid construction in legs?
>>
>>33685141
Yep, articulation on the outside of the thigh and leg in the suit.
>>
>>33684311
>by gaining more muscle mass you can carry more

>>
>>33685166
Sorry, but I dont see rigid construction in this, it looks like thick soft armor to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLSevzABwWw

Is there any source about construction of this suit, patent maybe?
>>
>>33684846

No, the British have led the field in ECM for decades because of the conflict in Northern Ireland.

When I was deployed in Iraq in 2007, the US had nothing like the full ECM suite we had and hence the large amount of PIR IED hits they sustained.
>>
>>33685279
Well, the best what I can find is this (Conan OBrian cut the process of getting in the suit)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-vNBy2FuQg

The trousers on suspenders still dont look like rigid construction to me.
>>
>>33685307
Look how he pulls out the legs, see their orientation? There is framework in there. It does fold up.

Looked though google patents, nothing quickly. On the website iits by request only so I'm assuming it's a trade secret (general suit construction that is).

im speaking from experience with the suit.
>>
>>33684356
NEVA BEN DONE BEFUR
>>
>>33684979
Is that a training droid?
>>
>>33685331
Well yeah, legs maybe reinforced, Im more concerned about waist and back - there must be rigid construction like backpack frame, but its completely soft, with suspenders.
>>
>Using your sick and crippled to sweep for mines

It's like the glory days of Russia are back
>>
>>33684941
It doesn't look like as if there is any locking or spring mechanism on the joints. There needs to be one if it can transfer loads.
>>
>>33684991
I was an explosive detection dog handler in the air force for ten years.

A couple of years ago the DOD sunk 18 billion dollars into a program to replace a dogs nose. It failed miserably and they teach about it at the k9 schoolhouse at lackland.

Some security forces units running commercial inspection sites use something called a "sniffer" machine but it is highly unreliable and constantly comes up with false positives. It fails so much if they get a hit they have to call a dog team out to verify it anyway making it useless.
>>
>>33684281

What is even the fuckin point, do russians suffer from polio?

man-portable ECMs, yes. Anything beigger and its generally the Russians with specimens like that giant-ass truck system that fucks sats., but Americans have a firm leg up there too with airborne jammers.
>>
>>33684907

Expensive, bulky, not great at detecting mines.

>>
>>33684415
were you in the military? This is most likely some grunt point man. You can't have mraps everywhere due to just the logistical nature. And this isn't the US. Some roads are too small for vehicles. Sometimes its best to dismount and patrol the sides of the roads for signs of IEDs that are offset for the sole purpose of destroying minerollers. Minerollers are also expensive and we don't have as many as you think. They get stuck in rough terrain and limit the speed of the patrol because they break apart when hitting bumps and other shit in crappy middle eastern roads.
