I didn't accuracy test but it shoots very smoothly. Brake is kind of loud. No issue with feeding or firing as some people reported. No visible damage to receiver extension after 2 magazines. I need Nodak to hurry up with my A1 lower so I can build a dedicated lower for more shooting, I don't want to risk my Magpul M93B with a piston upper even though it looks fine so far.

I can't get get enough light into the holes on camera but yes. There are floating screws INSIDE the riser behind these four open holes, which screw into the bottom of the Aimpoint. You can juuuust make out the hex heads in the photo.

If you remove these two Torx nuts, the riser will come off and the floating screws will fall out. You take those same four screws and attach the optic directly to the base with them instead.

That's entirely dependent upon what your gas journal diameter is on your particular barrel. Got some calipers? Give 'em a measure, but don't guess or assume it's close, gas blocks come in lots of sizes.

You will need to find out from Bobro if the Low T1 mount (without riser) comes with short screws. If not, you'll have to buy screws.

I'm thinking of picking up a couple Smith and Wesson Sport II's since I'm seeing them on sale under $500 now. I already have an AR-15 that has a free float handguard, CL barrel, nice trigger group installed, etc., but I want to have a few extras on hand for the apocalypse, maybe that I could hand out to my friends so they could defend me.

Steel or ceramic?
The steel is much cheaper and the trojan man outercoating seems to catch fragments pretty well but the ceramics are more highly praised. For someone who doesn't have to wear their PC every day for their job. Which is the better choice?

Get the COLT 6960 CCU since it's midlength and has a good freefloat for around $1200. If you want to cheap out and don't shoot that much then get a m&p sport 2 or ac15. Colts are much nicer though.

Where could I get a new carbine-length barrel without M4 feedramps that's not total junk? I want to do a retro build like pic related but I'd like to not have to deal with Model 1 or Brownells over-drilling the gas port, and preferably like to be able to shoot stuff besides M193 (so maybe a 1/9 twist and 16" is fine).

Thoughts on C.A.R. stocks? I might put one on my next build.
