Flashlight. When it's attached to your gun you will natrally aim where you're looking. And there's little or no distortion due to colors or shadows. NVGs will give you a wider view angle in theory, but they completely screw up your depth perception, shadow perception, and you have no peripheral vision.

no memeing, get a good flashlight, preferrably have one mounted on all your guns.
NODs are cool, but they're stupid expensive (good ones anyway) and you will never use it in a self defense scenario (unless it's fucking WROL in which case go nuts).Streamlights are fine, Surefires are gucci.
