I listened to a podcast a couple months ago about a reporter joining an Arizona militia.

Protip: Cartels is a vague as fuck term. There are multiple cartel groups and smaller syndicate where you can protect yourself just fine. It really depends on their budgets, their backgrounds and experience. Alot of those grunts have hollywood tier knowledge on firearms.
