What is /k/'s favourite modern blunt weapon?

thats probably the only blunt weapon that can be considered "modern"
i have a crappy cheapo 16 inch expandable baton, utterly useless for its purpose but its fun as fuck to flick out and pretend to beat hippies with

Extensible batons suck OP. They break after a few hard blows.

maybe with a crappy chink knockoff or if you smack it against a fucking solid surface.
an asp used against a human body will last for a good long while.

I like big wrenches.
You can get big ones for a few dollars at junk yards and gypsy sales.
Baseball bat
Are the coiled batons still produced? When I was a kid, we'd get catalogs full of mall ninja shit. There were some ridiculous stun guns and coiled batons as well. Apparently, the can shatter bones pretty easily, which explains why I haven't seen them in the wild for decades.

Apparently they are. They seem different now, though.

I keep a .38 in my glovebox but until I get my cwp I carry a 16 in ASP with me everywhere.
I've also trained MMA for a few years though so I feel like I'm more prepared for a physical confrontation than most of this board.
A baton is probably the best carry option when guns can't be considered.
You still have more reach than fist/knives, and you can get lethal if the need arise.
The thing is, if guns are illegal in your country, thoses probably are too. Just get an illegal gun in that case.
Not exactly modern, but I like my manriki chain. I can use it in a number of ways

That fucking thing puts out 14 lumens, costs $10 to fill up, and all the coppers that were using them in Anno Domini 1991 have long since retired.
Best of luck at the trial.

There are also more powerful third party LED drop ins as well as more modern versions of the Maglite from other manufacturers.

Professional hitter of other people here:
ASP is shit, not enough weight. The RCB is the only acceptable telescoping baton and actually holds up in a fight but I'm personally not a fan of telescoping batons anyway because you can't jab very well with them.
The PR24 is great though I'd say an Espantoon is the gold standard of impact weapon.
All this said, the advent of Taser's wonderful line of products has really pushed impact weapons to the wayside.
>>33674157

saps are flat so it won't fit up the butt very well. They're meant for police knocking people out without excess injury. They're no longer in use because they do, in fact, cause brain damage on occasion.
>>33679818
South Carolina doesnt, other states can blow me
I have a surplus British wooden police baton that is about as long as your forearm. I don't know how they made them, or if it's a good weapon, but holy Christ is that thing shiny.

It looks like a spanking implement not a dildo.
Nothing is more effective than an Aluminium bat for vigilante work. Prove me wrong. While you desperately swing two 20 inch dildos at the knife wielding crackhead, I'm at a safe distance of at least 1 yard.
I keep a yard-long prybar from Ace Hardware in my car. Did I do good?

Actually it's 130 lumens and you can easily swap out the bulb and have an 1000 lumen light.
It's still a flashlight and if you use it at home, your car, or as a security guard in a self defense situation I fail to see how you'd get in trouble
>>33677557
question: do you bonk people with the light end or the butt end?
>>33686952
The butt end.
You're supposed to wrap your hand around the tube near the light end, and rest the body of the flashlight on your shoulder. Then, if you need to use it, it's in a pretty convenient location to swing from without changing your grip.

The advantage of expandable batons isn't combat effectiveness or reach, it's carryability and concealability. Unless you plan on shoving that bat up your ass it's going to be difficult to hide on your person.
