I don't mind wml protrusion. Used to bother me a bit, and flush looks a lot better, but having a standoff that allows contact shots is kinda nice. Couple of LEOs have both lived and died due to such things.

Plus more extension beyond the muzzle is a little better for the light itself

It doesn't bother me when it's a little bit, but it annoys me visually when the light protrude by like 2 inches or more.
There is just something very satisfying about a pistol and light the line up perfectly

Lack of chrome lining or melonite in most commercial firearm barrels and shitty matte bluing instead of melonite.

I've seen way more damage caused by the elements and/or neglect than actual use.

Browning B25's with the attached forend, where the sliding of the non-removable forend to break down the shotgun ends with the barrel bluing being marked/worn.

I got told by my uncle who was in my country's equivalent of SWAT that they preferred lights that protruded because they acted as a rudimentary stand off device.

I don't doubt that they probably did it for that reason but I doubt that it'd work as well as something intended for the purpose.

After lurking /k/ for a while, it becomes really clear that no gun can be considered accurate unless you completely replace the trigger with some aftermarket boutique part set that completely eliminates all effort into training your hand muscled and getting a good grip that allows a clean trigger pull.

As of 100,000's of cops, soldiers, and citizens haven't been fighting off the forces of evil with completely stock guns for over a century.

I may not have liked them, but honestly half the shit you read online or see in reviews seems to be exaggerated because all the new shit is so close that they have to make it seem different in some way.
