CMMG has sketchy quality and dedicated .22LR uppers tend to function a lot better.

I have run a Ceiner conversion which is also sketchy and it had occasional hiccups, but geenrally ran. Accuracy was meh. A $100 standalone bolt-action/single shot .22 rifle will be better unless storage space is an issue.

New AR10 build, first time building an upper (Faxon barrel, Aero almost everything else in the gun besides furniture), and after assembling it and testing it out, I was getting failures to fire with my surplus .308 (dimples left in primer, so light hammer strikes?) and I was getting failures to eject with some Federal Power-Shok I bought to compare (all rounds fired, but casings were flipping 180 degrees and keeping the bolt from moving forward). I was also having issues where it was abnormally hard to charge the gun for about the first inch or so, then it was just the regular spring tension to work against on the buffer.
What I THINK I did wrong was I had the gas block slightly canted which undergassed it and also left the gas tube crooked in the receiver, causing the difficulty charging it and also making it harder for the rifle to cycle.

How right does this sound? What else would I have screwed up?
