its a sexy gun that is considered the first assault rifle. doesn't last forever like an AK but it didnt need to. Im thinking about buying a reproduction

It's not the cartridge it's the gun. Stg weighs 10 lbs (which slows down recoil impulse) and shoots at 400 rps (standard for wehrmacht shoulder fired full autos). It makes the weapon a lot easier to control in both semi and full auto fire modes.
