Ireland has about 4.5 million people
Irelands is pretty JUST

Literally abysmal:

The Navy has 1,140 people, no frigates or destroyers, no aircraft carriers, nothing. Just about eight patrol vessels which they use to chase away fishermen.

The Air Force has about 900 people, no fighters or attack helicopters, basically just a few surveillance planes and helicopters

The Army has 7,700 active and 2,200 reserve
They have no heavy or medium tanks and only
14 light tanks, most of their armour is made up of armoured vehicles of which they have 80, plus some cars

They have 36 105mm howitzers in the way of artillery

Some museums have firepower than Ireland
>>
>>33662037
>no aircraft carriers
Surely they have some nuclear powered attack submarines though?
>>

They dont have submarines, they dont have warships, they have basically nothing.

That's better than voting for a guy you know will do a bad job, just because he'll do a slightly less bad job than his opponent. I voted for the candidate whose platform I agreed with the most. If everyone did that, we'd have a lot better, smarter elections with better candidates.

Besides, I was behind Rand Paul to start with. I only switched my support to Johnson when he dropped out of the race.

And you gave the stock criticism of Libertarian voters (muh they don't have a chance), so I'll give you the stock response: You have to vote for them when they don't have a chance, to grow the party so that later down the road they will. If no one votes for them now, they'll never grow. But they are growing--this year we scored double what we did last year, and it would have been a lot more were it not for Johnson's PR fuckups.

>>
>>33662290
You're right, he's not as strong on gun rights as I'd like, and I disagree about his stances on immigration and hate speech laws.

But I don't think he cares enough about gun issues one way or the other to fight his party about it. The LP would strongly pressure him to act pro-gun, and I think he would just out of indifference.

The reason I voted for him was because of the track record. Look at the way he governed NM. He did an excellent job, vetoed more bills that all other 49 governors at the time put together, shrank the shit out of both taxes and the budget and left NM with a nice surplus. I'd like to see the whole country run that way. No tolerance for corruption and bullshit if it wastes taxpayers' money--he doesn't just talk about doing it, he actually does it.

If this is what you think is a "good job", then I'm sorry to day I disagree with you fundamentally and I think you're an idiot.

Ross Perot was a one-time phenomenon in modern politics, and it didn't even work. A model of slow growth looks more likely for the LP, and there's reason to think it will: The GOP is a very old demographic. Each year it shrinks because most of its voters are old christian fudd geezers who are dying off. There are a lot of young people who want small government and fun rights, but who are turned off to the GOP beacuse of their stances on marijuana, gay marriage, and abortion--the LP is the only logical choice for them. We'll replace the GOP eventually, I'm sure of it.

3.2 percent is 4.4 million people. We've got a good start. I know Johnson destroyed our chances with his fuckups, don't get me wrong. I somewhat blame voters for not being able to look past that--I'd rather have a retarded clown with a good track record than a charismatic leader with a bad one. But I think the future of the LP looks pretty good regardless.

The problem is that the whole project is a scam for the media
>look we got the great new cyper shit over 10.000 new jobs. Look at it
while in reality they move people away from where their know how was needed, taking competences from the actual branches away to place them under a new command structure which basically means more shit we can do ourselves, because we need to follow the whole new chain of command to get work done each branch normally did on it's own.
Everything IT and Cybersafety related will take much more time and work now, making us even more incapable of functioning as a military.

do you have a source about them actually finalising a deal? I can't find anything

I did find this from last year though

https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/argentina-looking-new-combat-aircraft/

>According to IHS Janes

>“The Argentine Air Force is drastically cutting staff working hours and decommissioning its last fighter aircraft amid continuing budget issues.

>A recently published daily agenda indicates that the service’s working hours have been significantly reduced, from 0800 to 1300; rationing of food, energy consumption, and office supplies has been directed headquarters staff and property residents; and only the minimum personnel required to staff headquarters, directorates, and commands are working.

>These orders, issued on 11 August, take effect 18 August. A next step will cut Monday and Tuesday as working days. Moreover, air force officials said any aircraft taken out of service will not undergo maintenance for now.”

which casts doubt on their ability to even maintain a 4th gen fighter assuming they could afford one

Yeah I guess you're right, 200 jihadis having access to western military weapons is no big deal. I mean what could 2 or 3 Muslims do with a Leo? They def wouldn't run over crowds while firing wildly in every direction or something to that effect. That's assuming they are too stupid to play the long con and sabotage the military internally. Good thing they managed to find the only 200 radicals in their ranks. Germany is a joke, everything about that country is shit.
>>
>>33662666
If we keep up with this lesser-of-two-evils voting, the candidates will keep getting worse and worse.

Only time will tell us who's right. But conservative young people usually have a Libertarian set of ideals--small government, gun rights, low taxes, and personal freedoms regarding sex, marriage and drugs. If the GOP evolves enough to absorb those voters--which it will have to do to become relevant--then it will be basically turning into the LP instead, which is okay with me too.

However, the reason why I think a complete new party is needed--and I think the LP will continue to grow at the GOP's expense--is that the GOP is also becoming old, established, and corrupt, which young voters tend to resent. They say they're for small government and balancing the budget, but for every dollar they cut from one program they spend two on some corporate interest disguising itself as "defense" or "job creation". (think F-35 program) That would have to change, too, for young voters to come back to the GOP, and I don't think that will ever happen.

No clue, but from my hotel room near the main shopping strip, I could see military helicopters in the distance and even a C130 or two.

In Asia? It has to be the Philippines.

>America's greatest cheerleader in the Pacific, way before Japan and SoKor did it (until they elected a pro-Chinese leader recently)
>100+ million people, only 150k+ servicemen
>has the same economy as Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia
>no combat aircraft
>no tanks
>Navy is composed of old ships and unarmed USCG cutters
>is fighting two insurgencies and hasn't ended either one of them
>2017 and still using Vietnam-era equipment
>biggest purchase to date are trainer jets from Korea and sealift vessels from Indonesia
>despite being America's cheerleader for decades the latter won't even sell them basic guided munitions and missiles

Technically Vietnam is slightly poorer than them yet they operate Su-27s, Su-30s, S-300s and have Kilo-class submarines.

You'd think as a society who got invaded multiple times, has a long history of radical Islamic terrorism and communist rebels they would take national security seriously.

>>33658531
>Hmmm I wonder who these terrorists who have infiltrated our army are
>Surely they aren't all the brown guys with bears who are overtly Muslim
>NO Hans! Rayciss thoughts must be stamped out!

>the GOP will die off

Nope sorry it's always been a party dominated by old people.
As the us continues to become and older nation, the GOP will only rise in popularity. Marijuana and gay marriage are no longer topics of debate - they are reality, republican candidates say they don't like them but won't do shit about it. The republican stance on abortion and planned parenthood is already weakening greatly

GOP is already evolving. Libtards will always be cucked

>On June 28th 2009, Honduran soldiers marched into the bedroom of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya while he was in his pajamas and forced him at gunpoint to walk into a waiting jet and exiled him to Costa Rica. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned the ouster of the Honduran President as a coup as she called for “the full restoration of democratic order in Honduras.” The “democratic order” Clinton was suggesting was not to restore Zelaya as the legitimate president but a president (or more like a U.S. Puppet) that Washington finds suitable for its interests. Roberto Micheletti replaced Zelaya as an interim president. Micheletti lived in the U.S. (Florida) early in his life.

>Hillary Clinton’s involvement in the overthrow of the democratically elected president of Honduras Manual Zelaya is clear while most of the main-stream media ignores Clinton’s involvement in destroying yet another democracy in Central America by the U.S. government. Central America has experienced U.S. orchestrated coups and civil wars in the past including Guatemala (1954), Costa Rica (mid 1950’’s and 1970-71) and civil wars in Nicaragua (1981-90) and El Salvador (1981-92).

That relies on the fact that a lot of people will become more conservative as they get older. I doubt that that will continue to be the case.

Like I said here >>33662763 , I would be all right with a course of events where the GOP pretty much transformed itself into a more moderate LP in order to attract young voters with out traditional/religious attitudes, but I think the establishment and corporate interests will still turn them away.

>2 and a half months in and I am catching myself doing dumb mistakes and just blindly doing things without thinking
They say when you leave this joint, you get your brain back. But what about the guys who never had any brain to deposit in the first place? They don't need jihadists or SJWs to fuck this place up. The normal staff is dumb enough to manage it by themselves.

The ratio is realistically speaking more like 1:10, which actually makes it worse since that means that there's like one guy every other Stube (bunkroom) who isn't a total dimwit and who is conscious enough to realize the pile of shit he's stuck in, then make attempts to fix it, then fail and despair.

only with Navy and Air Force, most Army guys I've met were borderline retarded.
We have a driver (OSG-> corporal, but basically a private) who has a 12 year contract and never did anything but driving from one barrack to another, he isn't mentally capable of doing more than that and we keep him employed as long as possible out of pity for him.
>>

Our old 40+ year old MiGs are falling appart after ''being serviced'' in Ukraine.

They still reffuse to just buy 5 new jets which is enough to cover our whole territory.

Got ''free'' almost new (2012) helicopters for selling of our old weapon cashes to Jordan.

Got a decent number of well maintained armoured vechicles.

The tank division still runns somewhat.

Marines maintain what we built in the 90-s and early 2000-s.

We got a decent number of Submarines that are most suitable for combat close to the shore.

What?!?!

The US actively aided the UK during that war and was ready to under the table loan them harrier pilots if need be.

>Top kek, I don't even carry a gun as Officer of the watch.

how the fuck does Germany function? Everything rides on Poland and the fucking crazy Baltic states to kill things?
>>
>>33664483
The Bundeswehr has essentially two halves. The conscription machinery and the deployed troops. The deployed troops that go to Kosovo, Afghanistan, Somalia, Mali, or soon into the Baltic states, they get armed to the teeth and operate practically identically to American or British top tier military units. The homezone army, the leftovers from the 1955-2010 conscription crank that just ate up young Germans and turned them through the wringer for about a year or so, then spat them out again, that's basically just a big rotisserie to keep retards warm, fed and happy. I mean, that part of the BW is never actually called upon to do anything (unless the northern coasts get flooded again to deploy some sandbags) because it's fucking ILLEGAL to use them on the inside of the country so the actual performance loss is zero.

The conscription machinery only exists to protect the country in case of invasion, which would be the cause it legally needs to go hog wild. It will never get this cause, because by the time any realistic threat manages to invade (i.e. Russia) the entire country will be a big radioactive dust cloud already.
>>
>>33664483
Under normal conditions people carry weapons, but it doesn't make sense to carry a gun while you are doing your POG job when your personell is carrying guns and it's not like anything is ever going to happen where you need to use a gun.

>>33664533
this sums it up, when deployed you can go fully operator and I'd never walk around in fucking Djibouti without a gun

Their special forces are hard but the main troops are tied by clan loyalties and "allah wills it" bullshit. If they have a cousin on the opposing side the guy won't attack him and vice versa and heaven forbid if a non-Afghan shoots said cousin.
>>
>>33664759
maybe their spec-ops that are, surprise surprise, trained by foreign advisers. Rank and file afghani soldiers have very poor morale, discipline, and training. There's a reason there are such rampant stories of them hiding or out right looting american barracks when shit goes down
