What's your favorite military-related aesthetics?
Mine would have to be the early-war uber-authoritarian military of the Germans.

Mmph. There's just something so aesthetic about the WWII US OD and white star combo
>>33657128
I get you I do it's got a really clean, smooth, clear cut aesthetic. Vietnam a besto though.
US Pacific aerial efforts are always sexy.
Despite how shit the F4F was performance wise, watching one flying at 500 Ft. on a bombing run is always beautiful.
Too bad I don't have a pic of any F4Fs.

CH-10 Bananas, obviously.
Seriously though that's a good question.

There definitely is a very interesting feeling associated with the naval war in the Pacific. Sailing ships thousands of miles to islands to bombard them or land on them, or carriers sending planes hundreds of miles to search for ships that would be tiny specks from high up.
On the topic of the F4F Wildcat I wouldn't say it was bad. It just couldn't turnfight the A6M, but the American pilots realized this and developed ways to fight (See the Thatch Wave or stuff learned by the Flying Tigers). They also realized, and exploited, the Zero's weak dive stability and inability to roll to the right without risking stalling.
Plus when you compare the F4F and A6M, the Wildcat has much better survivability in the event you get hit.

shit sorry, i picked it up from one of these threads sometime ago. i'll go commit Sudoku now.
Pacific War
It was pretty much proto-Vietnam, Americans and Japs were looking super scrappy and salty
>>33658360
Understandable. There's a webm on /wsg/ of aftermath of a battle on Okinawa with American showing off Jap corpses, pretty standard war gore.
But one guy who's looking at a corpse with his pistol out just shoots the dead body twice, don't blame him, those Japs had a shit ton of bombs but not enough bombers.

Anyone have any Western Front pictures?
Pre-WW1 aesthetics are quite nice.

M1913 rails.
I love them, their perfection, their durability, utility and simplicity.
I want rails everywhere.
Hate your grip? Put rails on it. Hate your buttstock? Rails. I wish they replace rifling with rails, so we can customize our rifles to fire how we want them to. Bolt action? Rails. Lever action? Rails. Revolvers, Glocks, 1911's Shotguns, whatever I want rails.
I broke up with my girlfriend when she wouldn't let me mount her with rails. I have a sex doll with rails, my vibrator has rails, I sexually identify as a M1913 rail.
RAILS ARE LOVE, RAILS ARE LIFE.

>>33660520
Not really, Anon, I agree that the U.S. aerial effort was the best out of any other during and after WW2. But the F4F, despite being survivable, was slower, heavier, less maneuverable, and pretty much a sitting duck in a 1v1, unless you had your buddy to help pull off a defensive maneuver (IE: Thatch Weave) you could consider yourself dead.
The only thing I could really picture the F4F going up against in the Pacific is one of the Nakajima-27s or an A5M.
Honestly speaking, the P-40 and the P-39 were the only good U.S. fighters to be flying at the start of the war in the Pacific.
