Well OP, here's what you need to do.

Step 1: go to a run range with a friend
Step 2: Rent and shoot every gun you can
Step 3: buy the gun you liked the most.
Step 4: enjoy your purchase
>>
>>33650853

Buy something that will piss off /k/, for the lulz.

Get a FAMAS

9mm Hi-Point. It is heavy, bulky, cheap and has a life time warranty. Now why would I suggest such a thing? Well, you need range practice so spend the rest on ammunition, cleaning supplies & targets. Once you run 500 rounds through it, upgrade to a most costly firearm and use that Hi-Point as a base to compare.

Any bolt action magazine fed .22lr rifle.

Honest reply?

The first thing is: What do you want from your new gun?

If you want to get into marksmanship, then Ruger offers .22 handguns and carbines in droves. If you want a balanced pistol, then a 1911 isn't bad. The options are endless here.

To be honest, any gun can fill 2 out of 3 rolls. For example a 1911 can be both a competition piece and a home defense piece. Likewise, any AR Build.

And I'm to lazy to type out the rest on a Cherry MX Red keyboard. If I had Browns I'd bother more, but that's besides the point. I'm drunk.

This is great advice. Thank you >>33651087
Home defense/woods gun. Is a 1911 ok for this? I really like the way they feel after shooting a few
>>
>>33653162
It's not an ideal defense weapon, but it's sufficient. Go for it

Read it OP, start at 20 yards not 10 though

Anon is right. There are better choices on paper but if you like how it feels and looks it's a good gun. A glock 21 holds more rounds, is probably more reliable and cheaper depending on what brand of 1911 you get, and I believe weighs noticeably less but if you don't like it's grip don't get it.

Get what you like just don't buy shitty brands like Taurus or you'll regret. The Anon who suggested the hipoint is onto something though, they're actually reliable considering how cheap they are and would be a nice backup. Keep in mind that 9mm gets significantly cheaper per trip to the range to shoot than 45 auto and that there isn't a whole lot of difference in power.
>>
>>33653162
Any decent 1911 is gonna be at least $600
For that, you can get just about any pistol except Sig and H&K
.45 is kind of expensive for learning how to shoot
But if you still want .45, save up a few hundred more dollars and get a USP Tactical or a FNX
Youll have more rounds than a 1911 and can get a suppressor
>>
Get a Glock or a 1911.

Calibur shouldn't matter but 9mm comes in both and is pretty easy recoil.

>The Anon who suggested the hipoint is onto something though, they're actually reliable considering how cheap they are and would be a nice backup
Don't forget that in a worst case scenario, absolutely no matter how or what he does to fuck it up he can just send it in and have it fixed (and probably get a free magazine for his trouble).
>>
A .22 Auto loader or a .22 bolt action. Start off with small calibers your you might develop a bad flinch habit.
>>
>>33653162
>actually fell for hi-point bait
>ignored the fpbp that told him exactly what to do

If you want something built like a tank that shoots like butter, go for a full size Jericho with the steel frame.

I love that gun so much.

what if it's made in turkey

what if you didnt buy explosive devices and just got a solid 9mm

wasn't referring to the Canik, I was just asking about the Tisas which Hickok made a video on
>>
buy something french in 7.62 Longue
>>
>>33653888
That's exactly what I did minus the purchasing part. The 1911 was way easier for me to shoot than anything else

really looking forward to seeing this meme around

If you want a great budget 1911 either ATI (American tactical imports) or Tisas both around 400.00. Can get a Taurus .357 revolver for around same and those are not bad. I just got a Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge pump (5+1) for under 200 at WalMart Can find a few AR-15 models under 600 that are good (S&W M&P Sport II, Ruger AR-556 which I own) Or a nice little Mossberg 702 Plinkster .22 for around 115 at Wallyworld. Lots of good affordable options. For a 9mm don't go crazy, get a Taurus PT 111 G2 or just a basic Hi-Point (yes I know Hi-Points are cheap but they fucking work and are balls on accurate. Plus if it DOES fuck up Hi-Point will fix it or replace it forever no questions asked. Not bad for a 155.00 gun)
>>
>>33650853
One pistol is not enough. Two is better, three is even better. Same caliber of course, (9x19mm.) and interchangeable magazines, so get several of the same pistol. I recommend the Heckler&Koch USP. And none of that high capacity extended magwell shit, use plain 15 round mags. Each pistol should come with one mag so you should be all set. If you get in a situation, when one mag is empty change pistol. You should consider having one round chambered as well, that way you have 16 rounds in each pistol.

Do not buy fucking M1911 failure shit or eastern european crap. Your life depends on your pistol, is your life not worth 2-3 000 $ ??
>>
>>33650853
buy whatever gun you like most in your favourite vidya games

like the Samurai Edge, for example
>>
dont get anything thats made of plastic

you have to really keep those clean in order to keep from jamming up and blowing off your fingers with sharp plastic shrapnel

make sure the frame is all steel, so yeah 1911 would be a solid choice.
