With that being said I would go for the Ruger if you dont already own a 10/22.
My 10/22 is still probablymy favorite gun. Super fun plinker that is cheap to shoot. Eats all kinds of ammo with no complaints. From thunderbolts to winchester whitebox no jams.

I've seen the Ruger under 500, about 480 or so at lowest and and the 10/22 basic ones really low at about 180 or so. So it's a pretty good deal.
