I picked up a g22 the other day because the 40 models are cheap as hell. Stuck an alpha wolf threaded 9mm conversion barrel in it and now I have two guns in one.

I think the m&ps can just have a normal s &w barrel dropped in to change from 40/357/9mm. Do more research though.

Otherwise 40 is fine and plenty cheap these days.

40mm pistol has a bit too much recoil for decent follow-up shots, not to mention the concussion and smoke. You better hit them on the first attempt, and hope you've got a solid grasp on it.

I wasn't impressed with the 9mm so making the recoil even worse doesn't make me want one. If you're looking at the Detroit ones the price is alright.
