Nope.
>>33644554
Honestly, I have a question about baguette blasting bars. What's your opinion on a MAS 49/56 that got rechambered in 7.62 NATO if it works well? What are some issues you've noticed ?
I'd get one in 7.5 French but quite honestly, I'm just not partial to the caliber.
>>33644536

Gewehr 98 is best rifle.

This

Came here to post this.
>>33645527
But muh Mauser.
>>33644554
in terms of service the Enfield blows the Mas 36 out the water.
I don't see it serving in two world wars...
>>33645572
MAS 36 served in one world war, and all the way past Indochina. And the action is stilled used for the FR F2.
>>33645583
kinda moot when the enfield was in service for almost 40years by the time the french army were equipping them, and the MAS adopted features of the Enfield in the first place.
>>33645631
Oh? What what features are those?
>>33645572
In terms of service length sure. Being created in 1895 and then getting lucky for a war to be had each time it's on the eve of being replaced will do that.
>>33645663
I will not be ignored

The other MAS poster in the thread, the one 7.62 converted MAS 49/56 I shot was actually pretty decent, but I heard most of them are shit. You'd be better off just getting the regular one and getting into reloading, since it's a really fun gun to shoot.
Also, you might want to get the titanium firing pin, I had some issues with commercial primers when I first got my MAS 49/56.

The worst sights of any rifle of WWI. And that's saying a lot.
>>33645649
He's probably referring to the rear locking lugs. The French wanted a shorter bolt throw just like the Enfield.
Superior Enfield
>>33645516
meme rifle, worse than mosin nerds
Have a lithgow No1 Mk3 that is unusually accurate from what I hear. I don't think I'm using it as well as I should be since I cannot see the front sight post well through through the little notch.
I kind of wish I got a No4 instead since I like the "American style" 3 prong sights better due to the longer eye relief.
>>33645757
I already answered you in the other thread boss.
>>33645880
There was rear locking long before the Enfield.

They are good guns actually I don't know how they do rechambered depends on how good the work was I suppose.

This is a sub MOA rifle.

Lee Metford
Mauser 88
Mauser 98
I'm not going to whale on you because enfields are nice depending on the model and condition
Show me a model 4 T sniper and I'd cream myself
>>33644536
It really is

Lee enfield > mas 36 > k98k
Going to have to give that one a big affirmative, pal. SMLE for life.
>>33646176
Ok.
>>33646160
I'm not gay, but if you wouldn't suck a dick for an FR F2 you don't belong on /k/.
>>33645516
>400 meter minimum zero
>bolt blocks the sights when you cycle it
Enjoy slow follow up shots

Rear locking came about before smokeless powder. It was the Lebel that started the switch to front locking lugs. The Metford was originally conceived before smokeless powder came along and you can see it in a lot of ways.
>>33646822
The Lebel is also fun to shoot. Too bad Prvi only puts out ammo for it once a year.
>>33646838
Yes, the Lebel is amazing. It's also a reason to reload
But PPU should be back in stock by May.
>>33646274
Yes. You are.
how has this god gun not been mentioned

fucking love mine
Not an SMLE fan but the No4 is definitely the best milsurp bolt action I've experienced, although them Swede Mausers and Swissshit are the definitive target milsurp.
>>33644554
Didn't like the action or sights that much, and a bad trigger.
>>33645898
I just picked up one of these at a local auction today for 500$. It appears to be completely matching and in perfect condition, with original sling and cleaning kit. Anyone know what I could sell it for if all parts are matching and it has about 5-10 US military markings on it? Also the cleaning kit in the the back of the gun, I can get one side open and take out the brush and little rope thing, but when I shake it I can hear the oiler at the bottom, but I cannot get it out at all. Does the other end of the cleaning kit twist open, or is it stuck in there?
>>33650428
I managed to find a picture online of the same kit I have. The rope and the brush only take up half the space and I can hear the oiler at the bottom when I shake it, but it's in there pretty snug and I just can't get it out. Anybody else dealt with something like this?
