The sonic boom is but one part of firearms loudness. Even with the supressor the gases are escaping from the barrel under very high pressure, thus creating a loud sound. Also, the sound made by the firearm mechanisms are usually pretty distinct as well.

Even subsonic .22 Short out of a supressed firearm is going to be loud enough to be heard rather easily unless the background noise is very loud.

It makes sense, I guess. A single pair of binos would probably wind up being bigger and more unwieldy.
The idea should be that you combine a pair of tubes which combine to make ~1 image. The parts of the image that intersect are higher detail (because we all know that NVG tubes suck), this comes from the idea of super resolution, where you take multiple images with different photon sources and combine them into one.

My 22 has a 16inch bbl his is a 22inch. Other that that they are the same guns.
