I hate the trigger but that's just a personal preference. I still shot good groups with it, and it seemed like a fine gun. Some Atlanta police departments are issued the big version and my buddy ankle carried pic related as a backup.

Don't know about the shield but my 9c (Essentially the double stack of this) has an absolutely terrible trigger in my opinion. Just feels gritty and while it's getting better after a few hundred rounds I don't think it's ever going to go away. It also can have the trigger lock up if you're firing it from certain angles. I know this is a "feature" but if I'm gonna carry a pistol for self defense I ought to be able to fire the damn thing with my weak hand pinky. It is also horribly prone to limpwristing, another really terrible thing to have in a carry gun considering you may not get a chance to have a nice pretty stance if it came time to use it.

Also they are terrible for reliability in adverse conditions. You can't really understand what I mean until you hold it up to the light. The amount of space between the slide and the frame is pretty bad and just about anything could work its way in there.

That said, it actually comes with steel sights unlike glocks, the mag release is nice (it'll literally kick the mags out), it feels good in the hand, take down is nice and quick, and you can actually put a manual safety on the damn thing, which I wish more strikers would do. Also the backstraps are easy to swap out for comfort but a lot of pistols do that these days.

Keep in mind that again, I'm speaking as a 9c owner, but they're pretty similar. Given the choice again (and what I'm going to do when I get some spare cash) I would trade it in for a DA/SA. That or just get a Glock 19/43/whatever.

Had this problem with my skinny ayylmao fingers, did some practice drawing and it locked up. Ended up selling it and I carry a G43 now

carry a real gun. An M&P9C at the least isn't any bit more difficult to conceal. If only you could experiment with different holsters and belts instead of oogling over ounces or spec sheets, you would know it's almost effortless to carry one and miles easier to shoot effectively.

I own a shield and ccw it. It's OK. One thing it does have going for it, if u don't want a glock the shield had a descent aftermarket and a million holster options.
Bought mine last year and waited a month for it to go on sale for 320.00. If u can get it below 350 bucks it's as good as it gets for the price range.

It's got a completely different trigger, slide, etc. As for the gauntlet test, he used the original full-size m&p, they updated a few things mid production run. (and the one MAC used had an aftermarket trigger set that literally says when you buy it "THIS MAY CAUSE RELIABILITY ISSUES"
