I agree, its a shame the belted rims won't fit in standard Mauser clips. The bolt is also just as smooth as a Tikka with a 3# trigger.

it's a pencil barrel in a cartridge that heats barrels up quickly. iron sights and that cartridge don't make much sense either. the figure in the wood is not great, needs hours more rubbing, and the maple caps are hideous. nothing about that rifle is good.

That scope is the Four X 1.5-6x42
It came with the rifle as a combo deal so I didn't pay much for it. I think the magnification and reticle are optimal for driven hunt which I'm using it for. Simple and fast red dot in the middle. Although the battery life could always be better and there is no auto power off. But everything else like the glass quality is really good for the price.

I would check to see if the gunsmith who converted it reprofiled the feed ramp, or removed any material in that area. That's right behind the locking space for the lower locking lug, and removing too much material from there, especially in a conversion which is more powerful than the rifle is designed for, can be dangerous.

It's a CZ452FS. It's a gun I'll likely give away to some new shooter fairly soon.

The bolt rasps a bit against the receiver, causing finish wear.
The action needs to be run hard to prevent failures to feed. The bullet likes to hang up if you don't.
The stock easily dings and feels too light. I have one deep ding (through the surface, you can glimpse it at the bottom left) that I can't explain and I have multiple dings from my fuckhuge Steiner scope having touched it when putting the AI in the safe.

I picked it up because everyone was saying how great the 452 was and how stuff like the 455 were cheapening the rifle line.
Honestly, I wish I'd have bit the bullet and bought a Sako Quad 22. That or buy a second hand Anschutz and drop it into another stock.

I do not hate CZ, and I have great experienced with a .243Win CZ550 with set trigger. But frankly I would not suggest CZ .22LRs to anyone anymore. If you want to go the cheaper path, go Savage.

Yeah, the problem with that is I live in California. I have considered getting an AR (probably a full-length A1/A2 style), but it would need to be featureless. I also don't find ARs that interesting and I don't see the point of an AK limited to 10 rounds when I have an SKS. Loading from stripper clips is way cooler than magazines, too.

Admittedly, pic related does look pretty neat.

The slide itself is the only thing that matters, it has a drain port for the striker channel so it can't get water lock.
