like I've said before, my 3570k which is old as balls and isn't overclocked still runs most games at close to if not 60 FPS maxed out

Mind you I haven't run the most recent games, but I doubt I'd notice enough of an improvement to justify it

The only issue I have is load times with Photoshop and I would be that could be helped with an SSD.
Hell, Solidworks runs just fine and the i5s were supposed to be dogshit with drafting

I keep a set of garbage calipers for that sort of thing. My china special calipers are dubbed "layout calipers". I also use them around the stock material room/saw bay so if they get dirty or bashed around nothing of value is lost.

Seriously, I almost never have only one nice thing, I always have a nice thing and a cheap thing so when I have to risk damaging said thing, I use the cheap one. Dial calipers are useful really only when dealing with weird contour shit, you can easily catch lowest/highest spots. Shit digital calipers are the worst shit of the worst shit, but a good digital like Mit. Absolute are great in almost any situation. My vernier caliper is more the set I bring here and there/keep at home as it doesn't see much use, but there's nothing to go wrong (unlike dial calipers that have gears to get shit in them or digitals to have batteries die).
