What has a better trigger, the S&W 442 or the LCR .38?

I would wager the 442 would potentially have a better one with the apex kit installed. And it's only $24.

I've tried both. They each have their merits:

LCR: Lighter pull weight (feels like 7-8 lbs versus the 9-11 lbs found on your typical J-frame)
J-frame: Faster and much more positive trigger reset

Both triggers are smooth.

I ultimately ended up going for a J-frame with a factory trigger job, as it has a comparable pull weight (maybe 1 lb heavier at most), can be staged perfectly on every shot, and retains the much better reset.

Ultimately though, you cannot go wrong with either. Get the one that has a better price right now/in your area.

I have both, and I guess trigger pull is pretty subjective, but I think there is something slightly nicer about the pull on the Ruger.

That being said, I carry the 642, because the trigger pull isn't a night and day deal breaking difference for me.
