I am the opposite of most /k/ users. I wouldn't mind supporting the Turkish arms industry in the least, but I prefer to save up my money for more established brands.

I was seriously considering a Regent R100 or R200S .45, which is a 1911 manufactured by TİSAŞ and distributed by Umarex (my big beef with 1911 is that it's an OK design but vastly overpriced). However I'm broke and by the time I can save up $400-$600 for one of those, I can get a prancing pony on my slide for only a few hundred more.

I owned one of their stingray c models as well as a p01 during the same time period. The canik was machined better but both had the same shitty paint. The gun was reliable and accurate, really all I could ask for a range toy. They are good guns, you should rent one and try it out.

In order to not be totally non-sequitur, I had a guy try to sell me on a TP9SF the other day. It really is a great gun for the price, it seems. I really don't know much about striker-fired polymer pistols. My only advice is take advantage of the net and research long-term reliability

Love and carry my Canik L-120. I love everything about it, granted I changed the sights out for mepro night sights. She's never failed me after 2 thousand rounds. $320 out the door.

Demo Ranch seems to like it. I was a volunteer there and most people were running these, Race Glocks, or 9mm 1911s.

If I were you, I'd look into their compact CZ clones, C-100 in particular. Quality, I read, is great; just 1.5 lbs, common $20 mags, respectable aftermarket.

I was on a pistol stage. Getting hit with spalling was expected. I just took an unusually large and fast one to the chest that is embedded in my ribs one year later.

I liked my TP9 V2 so much it's now on my hip and the Glock 17 went back to the safe. J&G had them on sale a few weeks ago for $279 so I bought a spare! J&G still has them now for 289

Actually some Caniks stole their design from the Czechs as well! But the fit and finish on them is terrific. I really like the Cerakote and it don't hurt that it holds 19 rounds either!

If I wanted one I'd buy the elite.

I have the TP9SA. Great gun with around 1200 rounds through it. I've made it my daily driver and haven't had any issues with it to speak of. I would be aware that the SF elites have a problem with ejection.
