I can go to about 24oz on the buffer before it becomes too big to function. The bolt I haven't experimented with.

I don't have subsonic data available, but a 200 gr .277 shouldn't be significantly different from the 220 gr .300
At the very least it's much more versatile than both 5.56 and .300
It's ideal for military applications.

Many match grade shooter when money isnt matter if two man of equal skill and have everything equal or not but the result come out equal. That "less than 6%" stress relief,if you give one of them that benefit, that one guy's barrel will have less stress in his barrel therefore less variety between shots therefore tighter grouping. get flush fitting tungsten to put in tail of carrier then stake the weight there. theres plenty way of making tungsten stay there. if you dont want to fuck with tungsten you can use lead but it's too soft and depend what method you use to make it stay it will start problem.

for example if you pin it to carrier... the hole will egg slightly every time action cycle.

Use heaviest a5 buffer with a5 system or use rifle buffer system with all steel weight swapped for tungsten in rifle buffer.

use highest rate spring you can find. maybe springco orange!

calculate bolt thrust of 9mm +p+ and compare it against caliber you want to try to get idea if you would dare or not.

bonus point if you note whole weight of action mass+rate of spring for 9mm then divide it against bolt thrust and chamber pressure to get pair of ratio

then do same for caliber you want to do but with heaviest carrier with tungsten in the tail, a5 or rifle buffer full of tungsten weights, and orange springco.
