Keep in mind I am a white cis male, ~150 pounds and 20 years old. Looking for either 5.56/7.76 preferably but I am open minded to other options. Brother says I should get the reliable AK47, father says I should get the new SIG MCX, mother says I shouldn't get anything (typical). Please help!

It's never been cheaper to buy an AR. AKs vary wildly in quality, and a good one will cost over $1k while a great AR can be had for $500 or less. You can buy an AR and spend another $500 on ammo and mags and other accessories and still spend less than a decent AK with 1 mag and no ammo.

Get some fucking hamburgers then a glock 43, glock 19 and colt LE6920 (put an aimpoint pro ontop)
>Glock 43 for your skeleton EDC
>Glock 19 for your night stand
>LE6920 for your freedoms
If you are a poorfag replace LE6920 with a PSA midlength 16" rifle with a primary arms optic

Money is not the issue here, quality is. This will be a rifle that I will have for the rest of my life and will pass onto my children. I don't want to get it wrong, any specifics?

This.
I would build an AR. Personally I bought an AK, I love my AK. However, you can get more bang for your buck with an AR. It comes down to what you want honestly.
If you WANT an MCX, go for it. My first gun was a vector. Not ideal, but fun as fuck.
>>7.76
Get a SCAR-H. A little pricey, but well worth it.

Get an M1A scout anon.

I will consider it, thanks for the recommendation brother.

jesus man, let's take life one step at a time here, okay?
Not OP, but am I retarded if I buy this as a first build? I was thinking something along the lines of this or an SKS. Surely something can be had for under $500 that's suitable.
I have a Glawk brand Glawk for carry but I want a rifle for hog hunting and range use in general.

And yes I'm aware that this is missing the lower - not sure which to get.

Sorry buddy. Your right, I should take life one step at a time. I guess my point was that I desire a rifle that is reliable and will last a long time, possibly even lifetimes.
>>33624556
Well if you're serious about that get either of the two SCAR variants. Personally, I prefer the 17s.

You should start with never using cis here unironically ever again. Or anywhere for that matter. Makes you sound like a fucking idiot.
