/k/, why is this gun so underrated as a newbie carry pistol? It's a 1-to-1 Colt 1911 built by Walther. Although it is chambered in .22lr as opposed to .45 ACP, it can shoot stingers just fine, making it suitable for EDC, comes with a threaded barrel for easy suppression, and has the incredible trigger of the 1911 as well as its durability and all of its other features. Further still, it is compatible with most 1911 aftermarket parts. Seeing as most 1911s sell excess of 1 grand, the asking price of only 300-350 for this German-made Colt, to me, seems like absolute lunacy. Why doesn't this gun show up more often in poorfag threads is totally beyond me. Help me understand why, /k/, and please do so without bitching about the .22lr as a caliber as if you were allergic to it, because that is not going to change my opinion about this pistol, which seems to be extremely good for its price point and caliber.

Also: Post underrated guns here.

Two things, first this. It may look ugly ($128 what do you expect), but it shoots straight, has never jammed, takes my beginner hand loads like a champ, and a genuine pleasure to shoot

It's not underrated you mongoloid, .22 automatics are too unreliable for defensive use. You're not from this board, are you?
>>
>>33624431
I'm actually planning on getting my first SKS at my gunshow May 5th. I know a guy there who sells nothing but SKS equipment and cannons, and he always brings a good lot for a reasonable price.

Second one is this. S&W hand ejector 3rd model. It takes an oddball round (.32 S&W long), but it is a smooth to operate pistol with a lot of history behind it.

Seconded
>>
>>33624456

How are they any more unreliable than any other rimfire cartridge? The design of the 1911 is proven and, assuming you don't fire shitty ammo or have a shit spring, what's the problem? I'm not an expert here so fill me in.

>how are they more unreliable than any other rimfire cartridge
They're the most reliable rimfire cartridge. Rimfire and reliable are mutually exclusive.
>>
>>33624694
>>33624764
Any rimmed cartridge in a semi-auto is going to have issues.

Poorfag guns general?
>>
>>33624694
That's not a 1911. It looks like one, but it has a completely different action. Besides the physical aspect of rimmed cartridges that makes them unsuited for anything but revolvers, .22lr has such low energy and slide mass that the range of spring tension needed for it to function properly is too narrow to guarantee complete reliability. The slightest variations will cause problems, such as powder weight, lubrication, pocket lint, etc.

I have a Taurus 44 and consider it to be light, low recoil, and with a good trigger. Castigate me.

What does /k/ think of the older S&W semi-autos?
>>

angry, because I sold the two I had. I would love to get my hands on a decent 5906 or 4006
>>
>>33624764

Precisely. IMO, rimfire (in general) is pretty much obsolete, but I knew that going into this, and I'm going to do regular drills to make sure that I can cycle out any failures to fire rapidly... Not that I should have too many in the first place.

>>33624884

Basically yes. It was between my OP pic and a Taurus 111 g2, which is IMO another highly underrated gun for its price, now that most of its issues are fixed.

"Herpa derpa, no arguments here." - Anon E. Moose.

>>33626917

I think my OP pic gun is also very light for a metal gun with skull-caving action. We're in the same boat, anon.

>>33624911

I was planning to change out the factory spring as soon as I get it for a stronger one. Do you think that will help much?

>>33624449

That gun really doesn't look so bad with the glossy black metal. A little beaten up, yes, but if you just touched up the finish a little, it would look fine!
>>
>>33624431
wtf is that guy wearing
>>
>>33627065
Avoid the 2-digit 35 and 59, since they don't have a firing pin safety, and a wonky extractor.

After that- the rest of the whole series were pretty well built guns. 645's seem to go for dirt cheap, and are pretty nice.

One of the later compact double stacks will get you pretty damn close to an ASP for a lot less money.
>>
>>33624383
Because there are plenty of other pistols that cost about the same or less than that while being better in every way? Plus Walther .22s are all airshit tier Umarex products sold under the Walther name.
>>
>>33628837

>every wa

Yeah, no. The gun has plenty of merits.

>Umarex airshit

I mean, maybe? I think the liscence has been floating around a bit, yes, but I thought that was between Walther and GSG, not Umarex. Where did you hear that? Either way, I'd hardly call it airshit unless you just hate .22lr and especially rimfire cartridges.
>>
>>33624383
it's not a 1:1 1911, the insides are different since this one is a straight blowback
not sure about german made since I think they're walther licensed but made by umarex or one of those airshit makers
it's not underrated, it's shit
