Just got the levergat I won off gunbroker, it looks like the hammer doesn't strike the firing pin, but nothing is damaged or missing. This is my first lever action so probably I'm just retarded, took a slow mo video of a dry fire and it seems like maybe it does contact on a trigger pull and just resets fast? Is there a mechanism in the trigger that allows the hammer to move to a more forward position? I can't shoot it until tomorrow and the ignorant paranoia is killing me.
Pic is me pushing hammer to most forward position it will go.

It's fine.

Have you tried shooting it yet? If not you don't even know if there's actually a problem
>probably I'm just retarded
Yep.
It's fine OP have fun with your new lever gat, I love my 1894 they're great rifles.

God damn. The Win 94 might just be the most A E S T H E T I C gun ever made

Most hammer fire guns that I've handled don't have the hammer resting directly on the firing pin. It's normally off by a couple degrees.
Pull the trigger and physically push it forward, it'll touch.

>not being able to slamfire your levergun
1. probably rebounding
2. are you squeezing the lever safety

it's on half cock, dummy
don't you love when OP makes a thread and then leaves?
>>33623926
It's on half cock you shit head.
And before you come back asking why the firing pin doesn't work right, it's a free floating one.
