I liked my XD45 Compact a lot. Very comfy in the hand and I liked as the other anon mentioned their customer service when I had an extractor issue. Other than the extractor problem no issues no ftf/fte ect.

I liked them till I was shot by one that was damaged internally in a motorcycle accident.

Yup was set on the table for a photo, I didnt know it was loaded (revolverfag) sat untouched at least 30 seconds then went off. He emailed Springfield and they sent him a brand new one no questions asked. Not sure what was damaged, but the gun was in the motorcycle accident where he was airborn for 60+ ft then slid on various parts of his body (and gun) for at least another 60, and into a curb where he went over the sidewalk and into grass. That was the next time the gun was fired after being cleaned and checked to make sure the slide still worked. Hes lucky to be alive, but he also had 2k in riding gear on. (Im told no idea if thats inflated prices) so obviously it worked.

Also it was an XD, not a revolver, not that you can't flick open a revolver and easily check if it's loaded.

If you pull a gun out, you check if it's loaded. If you put it down, you check if it's loaded. And when you're absolutely sure it isn't loaded, you still don't let it muzzle sweep you.

I'm guessing you've never used an XD, I have never seen a grip safety fail, you don't even know what you are talking about. Also many departments still carry them, so you're wrong there too.

Finally on an XD the grip safety isn't the primary fail point. But since you've never owned one and are just regurgitating information you've heard to fit in you wouldn't know.

20,000+ rounds and my grip safety hasn't broken, all it does is interrupt the triggers travel with a little tab, not some complex assembly.
