Would you buy it? Is it even necessary? http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/04/11/chapuis-armes-rols-new-straight-pull-bolt-action-rifle/

What's the price tag? At this point, straight pulls are basically tokens of wealth for hunters.

From experience: Blasers are pretty fucking nice. Considering Chapuis is a fairly classy and high price tag manufacturer, I'd expect to be on par with Blasers.

In euroland straight pull hunting rifles are popular in driven hunts against boars etc where semi-autos are not legal or not "sporting".

Would I buy one? Nah, but I was never their target market though.

Quality posts, as always.

What's next? Chauchat references?

Can't find it. Assume at least one functioning kidney.

Those irons seem useless though.

>Straight pull bolt guns were the hottest shit for super rich hunters
>K31 enters the surplus market, straight pull bolt guns could be had super cheap by everyone
Did aristocrats go on suicide watch?
>>
There is no market for those overpriced straight pull rifles when you can have much cheaper semi-autos. Even here in France where we are limited to a fixed magazine three rounds capacity, everyone has got high caliber semi-auto rifles to hunt boars. Bolt actions are dead.

>Those irons seem useless though.

They're for backup purposes, you put a red dot for driven hunt on it, or a scope for normal hunts.

>>33620619
>Did aristocrats go on suicide watch?

Since when do aristocrats care about surplus guns? Most won't even know wtf a K31 is.

Considering Chapuis has made a living for decades from hugely overpriced ornate SxS & O/Us, it appear they do find a market for that shit.

How would you explain the success of the Blaser R8 then?
>>

> Will aristrocrats commit seppuku?
Since the other straight pulls are chambered in a variety of common calibers with a wide selection of bullets, I am thinking, 'no'.

Why does the entire top move back?
>>
>>33620401
Lots of European "straight pull bolt actions" are semi autos with the gas system taken out, because semi autos are illegal.

He was one of those regards that thinks people only buy the most efficient and effective things.

It's a beautiful looking gun. Definitely would buy. But I think I think be a fudd
>>
>>33622092
nothing wrong with a fetish for durr rifles and pretty wood as long as you're respectful anon
>>
>>33621762
did you read the article ? it's clearly a straight pull bolt, not a semi with the gas tube removed
>>
>>33620427

Famas isn't garbage though.

>>33621709#

I read an article a while ago that said for every hundred euros an employer pays you in France, he actually must spend 240€ because of all the taxes.

No wonder MAS died...
>>
>>33622203
Make 7.5 great again.
>>
>>33620866
I mean I understand that, but I'd rather have effective backup sights then whatever those are. Then again, I hunt with a non sported enfield so.....
>>
>>33620401
I'll never buy one due to cost, but I'm glad to see that Euros are still innovating when it comes to manual repeaters. That locking system is cool as fuck.
>>
>>33621499
Rednecks and other publically educated Americans seem to think that quotation marks are the same as underlining. You see it a lot in the south, especially at Farmer's markets. "Delicious" strawberries! "Juicy" watermelons, etc.
