Because I know what I want? and don't need /k/'s opinions?
>>33619702
There are plenty of new queers that have no idea what they want.
Ok, I'll consult /k/
I'm thinking of getting a berretta bobcat in 22lr for plinking. Talk me out if it
>>33619667
Because /k/ is full of slavaboo poorfags or retards who spout "BUY AN AR-15" for every question.
Because sometimes you know you want a Dersert Eagle when you see it.
>>33619745
I had one for a little while. They have a super heavy recoil spring which is why the barrel flips up. The springs wear out relatively quickly for a .22lr too. I sold my .22lr and bought a .22short. It's much better and infinitely quieter with a can.
Without a can they're both kinda pointless, considering the alternatives.
>>33619745
Eh, actually I'm not gonna. While I won't advocate it for self defense it's a fun little gun, more muzzle flash than you'd expect tho. Feels great in the hand, pretty accurate, neat "tip up" barrel" feature and one of the few guns that can ACTUALLY be carried in a pocket without it being painfully obvious to all that you're armed. I think the extraction is a little weak though, needs hotter ammo to be reliable.
If you want to carry one for self defense, get the .22lr version for cheap practice and buy the .32 ACP version for actual EDC.
>>33619667
Because /k/ gives extremely uneven advice.
Because /k/ would try to convince them not to buy a Glock, which is reason enough to ignore them.
>>33619955
Glocks are fine I prefer Sig.
>>33619667
Have you ever been here? There's like 20 guys who own guns and have knowledge. And then 1980 17 year olds.
>>33619667
Half of /k/ has awful advice the other half has okay to good advice on picks but someone who doesn't know much about the hobby can't tell the difference.
>>33620236
I guess you're right.
>>33619712
And those threads are heavily discouraged and trolled. For every 10 suggestions expect 1 good one from someone that owns firearms, the rest are from cod glockfags and the board vets are too sick of the shit to look at the op.

>I'm about to drop a few hundred dollars so I'll ask the opinions of strangers who will repeat some opinions they heard strangers repeat from strangers repeating the opinions of a stranger who was probably making things up so people would notice him
Nah I'm good pham
I don't know, I think it's entertaining when someone comes to ask /k/ if they did good with their 600 dollar tapco'd SKS purchase.
Really though, even if you don't want people's opinion on model and shit, at least ask for price check or do one yourself if you don't know shit about pricing.
>>33620410
Thats EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Saw one already today.
Because it's more fun to do research on your own, and find something that suits your individual tastes and needs, that k hates, and then post it constantly.
>>33619955
You could buy a glock, they're all around decent guns. You could also buy almost any other 9mm that isn't a piece of shit and save $400.
Because /k/ is filled with nogunz that think they know everything about firearms because they've read a few disparging comments about *insert gun there* and 25+ year-old information about guns and ballistics.
>>33619667

Thoughts on steel frame EAA Witnesses?
I'm a big fan of CZs, and with the steel Witnesses going for 350-ish, they seem too good to be true. Are they machined well? Quality built? I know EAA customer service can be iffy, but how are the guns themselves?
>>33624161
meh. It looks ok I guess? I don't see why it would be worse than your standard vanilla glock unless Ruger REALLY fucked up on their design
>>33624854
my good man Hickok45 said it shoots good and is slightly heavier than a glock.
That's good enough for me.
Being a compact that has 17+1 and takes non-compact mags (like a glock) is very attractive to me.
Also it's 390 USD at my LGS

Because I have been reading this board for about a month now, and have come to realize that it is filled with non shooters and wannabe's. most in here read the armchair commando manuals and think their opinions actually have merit. No, you did a decent job, actually. The Walther PP/K platform is tried and true, and Bersa is a lot better than Taurus when it comes to making repro/X-gun-styled firearms.

All right poorfags. Here's your guide
Smith & Wesson is running a $75 rebate on their pistols right now so you can get, depending on your state, a M&P Sheild for well under $300 with a little bit of shopping on slickguns or wikiweapons.Springfield also regularly runs specials for accessory bundles as well.
Second J&G had a sale running on S&W .38 SPC police trade ins most of which had never been fired. So check out slickguns.com
As far as an entry level hammer fired 9mm - that's easy. CZ75 variant with the decocker. If you can afford it get the Omega trigger and it's still cheaper than a Sig by a few hundred, usually cheaper than a Glock and outshoots both. Fucking love CZ's. Match target accurate, reliable as all hell, soft shooting. Only downside is expensive mags.
Ruger 85's are dirt cheap, caveman reliable, ugly as sin and you can get them all day long under 300.
Nothing wrong with glocks, reliable. just have shitty sights. I'd take the Smith over the Glock especially because the ergo's are way better. My hands are all fucked up and I'm getting old so soft shooters are nice. My EDC is a Smith M&P9c and I'm buying the Ruger LCR in 357 in 2 weeks. Carried the glock 17 & 19 for years. Nothing wrong with them, just prefer the Smith M&P to just about everything.
Here's your spending guide
200-250 Makarov is the only game in town
250-300 Ruger or Smith Shield on sale or used
300-400 Shield or M&P compact, used smith 38's & ruger LCR's on sale or used
400-500 the XD essentials can be bought special, can get them under 400 sometimes
500-600 glocks, CZ's, CZ's can be hand in the low 400's though if found used
If you can afford more than that you're not a poorfag
Best advice is stay away from the more novelty guns and calibers. A lot of people are clearencing out their 40s because law enforcement is abandoning them so ammunition will rise over the next several years. Stay away from phillipino 45s .
Bersa's are cheap, relatively reliable. 380 sucks balls. Buy a Smith Shield while they're on sale with the rebate
The Tavor is much more compact, reliable and ergonomic. If you want the Aug because it's cool, fine, whatever gets you off. If you want it for self-defense, prepping etc, get the tavor or an AR.
hk vp9 tac ftw :) any opinions from ya'll on that?
>>33648246
Just got done doing the same thing on another forum, see MAC's review / torture test of the VP9. Then go get something better and better priced.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOu5ZGfgtVk
>>33648246
Hammer>striker. Get a p30.
Yeah, great gun, retarded expensive mags and you can get better concealed carry for less. The question is why do you want it?
It's the same size as a G17, but more expensive, w/ more expensive mags and holds 2 less rounds.
Why not get a G19, have a more concealable option for less money?
If you want a range gun or go-to-war gun, great, but lets say it's SHTF, where are you going to find parts for an H&K?
It's all about the purpose, the gun is largely irrelevant.
>>33648435
>go to war gun
Vp9 is and was always intended as a carry gun. Why do you think it's named volkspistol? It's also slimmer than a glock and feels infinitely better in the hand. The two rounds or whatever won't make a difference in a defensive shooting. Also, if I had a "go to war gun" that was a pistol it would be a USP or Mark 23.
Owned a Raven P-25 and I loved it. fun little banger, Would I trust my life to it? Its better than a rock!
>>33648501
If by calling it the volkspistole they want to compare it to the volkswagon, they could do better by making it a better gun that's a lot cheaper and not a mid-tier Glock clone that doesn't last long and is at a high-tier pistol price. As it is, Glock, CZ, or Steyr make the actual volkspistolen out there.
