It might be harder to find at an LGS but plces like Cabelas and Gander usually carry it. Also, even if it was hard to find locally, who cares if you can find it literally everywhere online and for less than 20 cents a round.

Just got my Mak last week from Classic. bought 350 rounds @ 28 cents a round at lgs (not too bad imo) and love the gun. Its my primary bottle opener. Also so easy to take down to the frame for a nice deep cleaning. 10/10 carry all day every day.

My East German Mak shoots really well. The only problem is that dead space in the beginning of the trigger pull.

the 21 pound Wolff recoil spring also improves the gun a lot.

My Bulgarian Makarov is my favorite semi-automatic pistol, deal with it.
