I'm looking to buy a few thousand rounds for range shooting and for a "rainy day". Is the GT any better than the Wolf for the extra $0.03 a round? Will I notice a difference?

This is a decent question. Have a bump.
>>33609035
Yes it is much better than wolf.
Worth the extra 3 cents.
>>33609035
>more accurate
>bullet destabilizes faster
>casing is waterproofed/rustproofed with traditional lacquer coating
>full bullet and primer sealant
The guy above me is right, it's worth it.
Firmly worth the extra.
Golden tiger is clean, hot loaded and nicely lacquered.

Great, thanks guys
Golden tiger is very worth it to me.
>lacquer coating superior to polymer for storage and rust prevention
>sealed from the elements at both bullet/primer ends for max possible storage life, plus the superior lacquer coating
>very consistent velocities for cheap steelcase(online tests I've seen)
>actually reaches advertized velocities from 16in barrels(look for MAC's chronograph test on youtube, wolf was clocking in 300fps slower) I can't speak for bear/tula etc off the top of my head, but I know I've seen tests on youtube on how they do on different barrel lengths
>large air pocket in front of bullet, and it yaws very fast and stays that way from what I've seen
>longer bullet than a lot of others, so yaw is more effective since more surface area
>bullet shape offers better ballistic coefficient, so it decelleratres more slowly in flight
>GT has very little to no muzzle flash from even a 16in barrel
>it's noticeably more accurate for me

You're welcome.
I love it when a plan comes together.
>>33609035
I've had feeding issues and even a few FTF's with only a thousand rounds of Wolf, i'm going on 2500 of Golden Tiger without a single issue.
GT is g2g.
Definitely worth it over wolf.
Hell, it's all significantly dropped in price on SGammo since december.
ive never shot it but everything ive heard echos the feeling thats its one of, if not, the best steel cased ammo available.
would definitely pick some up, if only bc you can buy wolf or tula literally any other time. GT seems to go in and out of availability a lot.

>GT seems to go in and out of availability a lot.
That used to be the case, it's been pretty much available 100% of the time for the last year or two at least.

Here's a graph to go with this anons post.
Pic related.
>>33610501
Sweet pic anon, adding to my gun/ammo info folder.
SGAmmo is 30 miles away from me and I can't just go pick up the ammo from the warehouse. It's bullshit.
>>33611438
That does suck that you can't just walk up with cash or something.
Dumb question, but where would tula be ranked. It's what I currently buy.
>>33611605
tula is the bottom of new production factory ammo lists. the only thing worse would be damaged bullets stored badly or mystery reloads.
tula is bare minumum everything.
What about for 223? Is that any accurate. Yaw at all?
>>33611605
>>33611683
id take tula over anything corrosive, but mainly bc i dislike cleaning. generally, for 7.62x39, i buy whatevers cheapest but i avoid tula if i can only bc of the ammonia smell and bc wolf is usually about the same price
What about milspec Wolf with sealant by Barnaul vs GT? $25 cheaper doesn't seem like a lot, but that's 10%.
>>33609035
Golden Tiger is definitely the better cartridge, I get it when I can find it. That said I have had no issues with wolf and there is nothing really wrong with saving a bit of money.
>>33611508
Nope. I don't know why. They'd get so much more business from Oklahoma.
>>33610501
Isn't one of the whole points of cartridge casing in the first place to offer full 100% protection for moisture? That pic vexes me.
>>33613017
>Isn't one of the whole points of cartridge casing in the first place to offer full 100% protection for moisture?
It's not the primary reason for self contained cartridges by any means, protection from elements just a nice side-effect. It's still not 100% impervious by any means without proper sealants.
>>33609035
you need to buy a couple boxes and try it through your rifle. my sks shoots groups about 2-3x larger with golden tiger than wolf. it hates golden tiger.
>>33613159
It's always shot beautifully through my sks.
>>33609035
Worth it.
>Loaded hotter
>Sealed neck and primer
>Slightly more accurate
Golden Tiger is pretty much all I use in my AK.

most Tula is functional junk
the "effect" stuff is good though
