Is there a better gun? It's just so beautiful.

Never posted on /k/ before. I don't own a gun. I want to get a M4 and 1911. How pleb am I? What's better?
This is now an official "Make your best M4A2 thread"
RULES: Only off the shelf parts or shit only available to the military
Personally, I would change the barrel length to 15 inches, add a Geissele rail and trigger, replace the grip and stock with Griffin Armament furniture, replace the charging handle with a Raptor AXTS, and for the optic have a Swarovski Z6(i) 1x6 or a VCOG.
>>33605366
for the price, nothing with the AR15. You could do significantly better than the 1911, however. If you want something polymer framed and proven, get a glock 19. If you want something metal and still very much proven, get a CZ75.
>>33605366
Both guns are pretty good for what they do. It's not the high tech operator choice but fuck it.
>>33605306
better for guerilla armies and people who don't like taking care of their firearm, yes. Anything else? No.
>>33605404
>for the price, nothing with the AR15
What? Thanks for the guns to look up.
>>33605366
AR-15 is an easy choice if you're dumb noguns, you could even buy mine :^
Best start would be an Aero OEM and a rail/optic/stock that you like or get an M&P15 and then an RIA 1911
>>33605366
>How pleb am I?
100%. Absolute basic bitch taste.
But if its a way to learn, especially about the AR15 platform, then do it.
>>33605455
I meant that there's nothing that can beat the AR15's price to effectiveness ratio. You can pick up a good one for 700 bucks that'll shoot an inch at 100 yards. No other rifle is that cheap while still being that accurate, flat shooting, and hard hitting.
>>33605485
Wouldn't mind a M&P15 but i'd rather buy a M4
>>33605487
>absolute thottery
I heard AR-15 was the civilian version of the M4. But i was willing to go through the extra process/taxes of getting a m4
>>33605386
>M4A2: Superfluous Boogaloo
Rifle is fine, especially in the A1 configuration.
>>33605572
If you want an M4 you're gonna need about 30000 dollars and be ready to wait a year
>but you're not gonna do that you're just gonna be happy "trolling" me
>>33605505
I see. I've been saving for a gun for a while now though. I just want one solid rifle and pistol. Or maybe AR-15 ammunition is cheaper. Because I would want to shoot it a lot.
>>33605610
the cheapest ammo to shoot is .22 lr, but 5.56/.223 ain't too bad. You can usually get brass case for around 30 cents per round, and steel for 23 cpr.
>>33605589
30k? I just want semi automatic.
>>33605366
"M4s" are old hat. Now you have to get a mid-length 14.5" pencil barrel with a pinned brake, extended free-floated M-lok handguard, 1-8x scope, and Surefire Scout Light to roll with the cool kids. 1911s were never cool except with old fat white guys, just like revolvers. Everyone knows that Gen3 Glock 17s and 19s with every square millimeter stippled, an ultralight trigger, the slide reduced to 1% of its weight by lightening cuts, and a melted-in RMR are the best handguns around, SIGs, CZs, and HKs be damned.
>>33605630
Then buy an M&P15, it's cheap and it works and it's the same style as an M4
>>33605631
>1911s were never cool except with old fat white guys, just like revolvers
Is this true? I always thought revolvers were awesome. But i don't know much about guns.
>>33605340
*checkmate*
>>33605688
1911's were good service pistols that served the US well for a long ass time. However, nowadays they are outclassed by modern 9mm ammo and pistols. It was a good maybe even great pistol for its time. But that time is over.
>>33605386
I would use the 18" .300 Blackout barrel from Wilson Combat, a Leupold Mark 8 1-8, a UBR, and a Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS2.
Fun fact: the Army actually bought some M4s with A2 carry handle uppers when they first adopted the M4 for airborne, mechanized, and support troops in the early-mid 90s. These are referred to as "XM4s" in retro build circles, but Colt continued producing this same configuration from the mid-80s Model 720 actual-XM4 into the mid-2000s when they switched from the 4-position Fiberlite stock to the modern "M4 wafflestock" on the Model 777/778/779. You can get A2 uppers with M4 feed ramp cuts from Shrubmaster or if you find a Colt AR6520. The "XM4" with the Fiberlite stock and A2 upper seems really aesthetic to me.
>>33605631
>brake
>1-8x scope
>>33605797
I was making fun of mallninjas. At least I didn't bring up 13.7" barrels, but those are only good with pinned KX3s (or derivatives) or the BE Meyers 249F. The old commonly pinned muzzle devices were those dopey 5.5" flash hiders that people put on 11.5" barrels for something that kinda sorta looked like an XM177E2, but usually ended up heavier than a full 16" barrel.
>>33605768
Well whats the better than it? If it's a long list than what's the best?
>Is there a better gun?
An M4 with a SOCOM profile barrel and a mid-length gas system.
That was easy.
>>33605850
P227, HK45, P320, FNX-45. The Glock 41, USP45, and the M&P45 are pretty cool too. .45 is the best when it's in a high-capacity gun. 9mmfags get BTFO when you have a high-cap or even a mid-cap .45 in a modern design.
>>33605874
>SOCOM profile barrel
>mid-length gas system
So a full heavy barrel? A mid-length gas block would cover up the M203 notch.
>>33605850
That depends on your budget and use of the gun. No gun is best, although there are some general rules for handguns. Never buy Taurus, they have terrible QC. Or really anything under 300 bucks that isn't milsurp. I would avoid the Springfield XD too, the grip safety is fucking retarded.
>>33605901
enjoy your extra cost of rounds, hueg grips, and more recoil.
>>33605920
poorfag babby hands confirmed
>>33605914
>M203 notch.
The future is now, old man.
>>33605920
>>33605901
thanks I'll look into it.
I like the M16a4 more. 20" barrel for maximum velocity.
Pic related my rifle.
>>33605955
Tell that to US SOCOM. A 16" HBAR would be great for accuracy and sustained fire, but they still want to be able to use legacy clamp-on 203s.
>>33605946
Memes aside, it's always better to have less expensive ammo and a smaller grip. You can make a small grip bigger, but getting a big grip smaller is a pain in the ass or impossible.
>>33605969
good. Don't let some tard posting on /k/ be your only reason for buying a gun.
>>33605306
How does it teleport after its seized the memes and they arent made anymore ontop of starving?
>>33605999
M16A4s are pretty sexy. I wish the M16A5 program would have panned out.
>>33605955
What a POS.
>>33606000
>Tell that to US SOCOM
I forgot how 203-ready the Block 2 and Mk.18 were.
>>33606021
It feels pretty comfy now but I can see why people would hate it with body armor on. I think an A5 would definitely have a collapsible stock, along with a free floated handguard.
>>33606063
Canada got it right. 20 inch barrel with a collapsible stock.
>>33605302
This might sound stupid, but doesn't the front iron get really annoying looking through the scope? And you cant use the rear iron with the scope on so why not take it off?
>>33606084
>doesn't the front iron get really annoying looking through the scope?
You can't see it.
>And you cant use the rear iron with the scope on
Look up what a BUIS is and its intended function. The rearsight is only supposed to come up and see use if your optic is fucked. In this case, you would have utilized its detachable mount and removed it from the rifle. Alternatively, you have a cowitnessed optic, and you can use your irons with it still attached.
>>33605874
>SOCOM profile
>MSD recommending a SOCOM barrel
Are you drunk?
>>33606161
Are you stupid?
>>33606183
SOCOM profile fucking retarded.
>>33606061
You know the bottom rail comes off the M4A1 RIS2, and the Mk18 can't mount a 203 because the barrel and handguard are too short, right? The KAC M4 and M5 RAS handguards are also designed to be used with the bottom rail taken off so you can use a barrel-mounted M203. You need an 11.5" barrel with the real XM177E2 flash hider and grenade ring or a longer barrel (at least 12.5" or 13.7" .625"-diameter or notched) to mount an M203 on. I don't think Daniel Defense rates the RIS2 for hanging an M320 off of it, which may be why SOCOM doesn't use the 320. It's still considered one of the strongest free-float handguards.
>>33606063
The M16A5 was supposed to have the 7-position Vltor "A5" buffer system and their VIS upper receiver with fuckhueg monolithic quadrail (they have newer, slimmer versions with Keymod now). The Marines canceled it and just adopted basic-bitch M4s instead. They intended to do stupid shit like reuse their old A2 and A4 barrels which lack M4 feedramps (using a rifle-ramped barrel in an M4-ramped receiver will jam to all hell and back) and using the LMT fixed A2-style rear sight with the 4x ACOG, which would leave you with no fucking sight picture because of the short eye relief with a clunky fixed rear sight in the way. They were probably better off adopting the M4 since they came in wanting to do that stupid bullshit. Maybe they can reuse the VIS uppers and A5 buffer systems on some M4s, or something.
>>33606190
On no. Unfortunate.
>>33606190
Not for what SOCOM was using it for. For civ use it's retarded, but if you need to dump mags quickly while retreating like SOCOM practices having a heavy barrel is essential to not having the barrel bust.
>>33606204
>and the Mk18 can't mount a 203 because the barrel and handguard are too short
Sure they can
>>33606285
>>33606285
those are 1913 mounted m203's, I can't see them standing up to much abuse.
>>33605302
Wat? Are you blind? It isn't even the most acceptable AR.
>>33606306
You should probably warn these guys then
>>33606228
>For civ use it's retarded
It is more accurate. Makes sense for groups and penis measuring contests
>>33606345
HK33 a shit. The G41 is where it's at, but there are only like 6 of them in the US and they're all dealer samples (post-'68, but pre-'86).
>>33605505
never seen a 700$ 16 inch ar shoot a inch, your lucky to shoot 2 m.o.a
>>33606929
You clearly haven't been keeping up with the AR market.
>>33605404
>If you want something metal and still very much proven, get a CZ75.
Yeah proven to break slide stops and rust after flaking paint everywhere. If you simply must have a full size metal 9mm, get a Beretta 92g instead.
>>33605302
>Is there a better gun?
Big Brother
>>33605955
M320s are literally the biggest overpriced pieces of shit I've ever seen. Hell, they couldn't even give a proper designation on the patent, they just switch the fucking digits on 203 around.
>>33605631
wish I was cool enough to buy a salient glock with pre-melted RMR, I'm such a fag I still have factory sights
>>33605366
>I want to get a M4 and 1911. How pleb am I? What's better?
a cz550 and a cz75
>>33605302
It's like you're not even trying anon.
>>33606958
You most probably make estimation by 3 shot groups.
>>33608530
Or this one, I don't know
