Just got an SKS type 56 for 100$
The gas blowback guard(wood)
Is wobblely any one got a fix?
>>33598464
Put a shim (I used a piece of leather) between the stock and the barrel up by the front where it's wobbly.
Also QTTDTOT, son, come on. A thread died for this

Thanks.
I got a friends telling me to use a 30rd clip?
>clip
So I thinks that shit
But thanks for the help

Heres a QTTDTOT
On my SKS where the Gas tube connects to the barrel seems to be slightly lipped/tilted and i notice some gas escapes from there. It hasnt affected any cycling issues; but should i put a viton Oring on it to help seal a bit?
>>33598541
Dunno about tilted, but I know mine doesn't form an airtight seal. Presumed it was by design to avoid too much pressure on the piston or something.

These things are crude. Every part of the gas system is loose, leaks gas and rots. It doesn't affect the rifle. Leave it as the Slavs intended.
>>33598464
Where'd you get it from?
>>33601706
I figured as much which is why I'm not fucking with mine
Being tilted or canted sounds pretty shitty though
I'm also relatively certain the SKS was designed to hit enemies with brass out to 100ft

not sure where you put it since the gas tube itself is slightly wobbly
for fore ends that clamp around the barrel i use pieces cut from cork. i bedded down my mosin and my Mk4 No1 Enfield like that and it works extremely well

>SKS for $100
?
>>33598520
Don't buy tapco.
Don't replace anything that isn't broken beyond repair.
Congrats on the best $100 you will probably ever spend.
Enjoy your new SKS.
>>33598464
get a cheesegrater for it

Tapco works well though. At least the magazines do, their stocks are uggo as fuck.
