Depends on what you are doing, 6 mags is pretty standard
What are you carrying mags for? Just keep them on a table when you go shooting.
Strap a spam can of 7.62 on your back with paracord and load that shit on the go

Yo im blind as fuck nevermind
Seriously for what purpose do you need to carry mags? To feel all operator when you play dress up?

The standard is 6 mags plus one in the gun, but I don't think there's a law that says how much ammo you need on you.
Realistically, find the sweetspot where all the extra weight doesn't get in the way of your pretend operating.

Dude no one on this board is ever going to be carrying an AK into combat. If you really think you need to worry about how many mags you can carry you're just a man-child who wants to play operator.

>carrying magazines
>not just hand loading rounds individually into the breach
well done fag

Not op, and never served, but i read alot of mil-biogrophys, and mil-history. Alot of the authors talk about keeping between 12-18 mags on them in an active combat situation. Also is it advised to only load to 28 to keep tension on springs so as not to incite a jam of the weapon systems assuming a m4, or ar variant loadout?
